Character History
One Giant Leap
When Matt Parkman tells Audrey Hanson about his telepathy, she asks if the voices in his head were telling him to kill the President.
Graphic Novel:Road Kill
A newspaper reports that the President has drawn fire for recent welfare comments.
Dual
Senator Nathan Petrelli meets with the President in his limousine. He tells him of the evolved human menace and requests the President begin rounding them up. The President agrees.
A Clear and Present Danger
The President and Nathan continuously meet in the White House as of Nathan's second month as Senator. While interpreted by the press as dealing with Homeland Security, the meetings are updates on the government's plot to kidnap and detain dangerous evolved humans.
Exposed
Danko refuses to obey Nathan's orders and free Matt and Daphne in exchange for Flight 195's security footage, saying that the President has told him that the US government will not make deals with terrorists.
Shades of Gray
Nathan Petrelli presents Emile Danko with a signed order from the President, removing him from the project.
1961
A fake Nathan Petrelli holds a press conference and challenges the President to shake his hand.
I Am Sylar
A shape shifting Sylar changes into Virginia Gray and convinces himself to become president. He then holds a press conference challenging the president to shake his hand as Nathan Petrelli.
The real Nathan Petrelli flies to his office to stop Sylar and save the President.
An Invisible Thread
The President tries to evade a possible danger on his life. Peter poses as the President and tranquilizes Sylar. Sylar is unaware of this trick up until the last second when Peter shape-shifts back after tranqulizing him.
Later, Nathan tells Noah that the President has agreed to fund and give necessary resources to a new company after shutting down Building 26.
Notes
- In a blog post, Greg Beeman noted that the Dual scene in which the President makes his debut was filmed in October 2008, one month before Election Day in the United States. Beeman said that Tim Kring "really wanted to cast an African American in the role of the President, even though, at that time it was quite uncertain how the election would turn out."
