Three days later. New York. Mark had just got off a flight. One way. He stood outside JFK. His instructions were to wait there to be picked up. But there was no indication of when he was to be picked up, or by who.
He literally put his bags down when a black van pulled up by the kerb. The man he had met in London got out, along with another man in a brown leather jacket. The first man introduced told Mark to get into the driver's seat. Mark did as he was told. The second man picked up Marks luggage and carelessly tossed it into the back of the van, climbing into it.
The first man climbed into the passenger seat and told Mark to drive. He drove for around fifteen minutes before the first man spoke again.
"Look in your wing mirror. See that black car?"
"Yeah, what about it?" Mark asked.
"It's been following us since before you picked us up. They're agents. From Primatech. They want to lock us up. So no matter what happens, you keep driving, you got that?" he demanded.
"Yeah, sure," Mark reluctantly agreed, unsure of what else he could have said.
"Let's do this," the first man said to the second, who began to smile.
"Finally," he said. "A bit of fun."
The second man opened both of the back doors of the van as the first man climbed into the back with the second man.
"Light them up," ordered the first man.
The second man's hands suddenly burst into flames and seemed to explode out the back of the van onto the black car. Mark heard the return gunfire. The first man then ripped one of the doors off the van and threw it at the car. It took the top off to reveal a man and a woman.
Suddenly the car sped up and pulled in front of the van. A hand came out of the window, but there was no gun in it. Instead a black liquid began to secrete from it. Mark began to lose control of the van.
"Flint. Light up that oil," said the first man.
The second man, Flint, opened the side door of the van.
"Are you crazy? You'll blow us up!" Mark shouted. "I've got an idea. Hold on."
There was a turnoff just up ahead. Mark pulled infront of the agents and went for it. The agents followed.
"You. Flint isn't it?"
"Put your hand against the metal of the van." Flint did it. "Now heat it up".
Flint's hand went on fire. Immediately, the metal surrounding his hand went red.
"You. What's your name?" Mark asked the first man.
"Knox," he replied.
"Knox, take hold of the wheel."
Knox grabbed the steering wheel and Mark turned round. The metal of the car was begining to heat up a lot. Mark touched the side of the van, careful not to be burned by the flames. It was hot. Heat energy. He converted it into potential energy and stored it.
But what to do now? He had two options, he could escape and risk these people finding him again, or he could kill them. Was he a killer? Could he take a life?
His hands began to sparkle red. Like there was red electricity running through his hands. He touched the floor of the van and shouted to Knox and Flint.
Suddenly there was a burst of speed as the van begin to pull away from the black car at a massive speed. The whole van was shaking for about thirty seconds until it began to slow down. Mark looked around. They must have been two or three miles away from where they were, with no sign of the agents.
"Well that was cool," said Knox. "I think it's time for you to meet the boss."
