* I took care of it. Thanks for the alert, Intuitive Empath, and thanks for the initial warning Ted. I wouldn't have felt as comfortable blocking had he not been warned first. :) -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 19:33, 18 December 2008 (EST)

Powers Articles

  • The powers articles are great so far! In fact, I'm not sure they really need to be labeled as stubs ... they're about as complete as they can be, given the information we have. I'm going to go ahead and alter the template to link to them now. It'll make red links, but I think you've demonstrated that these deserve to have their own articles.--Hardvice (talk) 17:27, 7 December 2006 (EST)
  • I know you're not the only one, but I really appreciate all the work you've been doing on the articles for the individual powers - they look terrific. Thanks! - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:44, 8 December 2006 (EST)

Young Evolvies

TedC, I liked your theory about Micah and Claire discovering their powers when they were young. You might want to include a note about Sanjog, too... :) - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:51, 11 December 2006 (EST)

  • Thanks. I made an update in the Theories:Micah section. --Ted C 15:35, 11 December 2006 (EST)

Exploding Man (painting)

Thanks for "fulfilling my wishes" - the page looks great! - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:08, 29 December 2006 (EST)

Paradox

Thanks for putting Paradox on a diet - it looks so much better! - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:08, 8 January 2007 (EST)

  • No problem. --Ted C 15:25, 8 January 2007 (EST)

Isaac's power

  • According to your userpage, you have "a special interest in clearly defining how the powers of the various characters work." Well then you should check out MY userpage. I have a great theory written. I'm sure you'll find it interesting. -- Crevaner 15:47, 25 January 2007 (EST)
    • There isn't any evidence for my theory. It's just for fun. It will just be for my userpage. -- Crevaner 16:13, 25 January 2007 (EST)

Wordsmith

You have such a consistent and clear way of wording those powers... Thanks! — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:10, 13 February 2007 (EST)

  • I'd better. I'm a technical writer by profession. --Ted C 10:12, 13 February 2007 (EST)
    • I know I've said it before, but you really rock at how clear you are when you word info about the powers. Great job, Ted. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:58, 27 April 2007 (EDT)
      • Thanks! --Ted C 16:42, 27 April 2007 (EDT)

Chronology

I know it seems really counterintuitive, but the way we have all the histories so far are in order of release date or airing. For instance, Six Months Ago comes after Homecoming even though it takes place, well, six months prior. In the notes and galleries, it tends to be a bit more fuzzy, but in the history all the other pages go by release/airing. Thanks! — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:11, 13 February 2007 (EST)

  • Were not the GN and the episode released effectively at the same time? I don't know exactly when the GN went "live", so I couldn't say. Certainly they're on the same day, at least. --Ted C 17:13, 13 February 2007 (EST)
    • Right. The GN goes live somewhere around 3 or 4 am, sometimes as late as 5. It's seems arbitrary, but all the other character histories have the GN listed after the accompanying episode (see Jessica: Better Halves and Stolen Time time were released on the same night, but the GN is listed second, despite it taking place six months prior to the episode. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:19, 13 February 2007 (EST)

Five Years Gone

I understand the logic, but the section is called "Character History" and is for events that happen to that character. The link to the possible future versions of the characters just doesn't belong in such a section. It should be in Notes or See Also; otherwise, we're implying that Future Character X's events either have happened or will happen to present-day Character X.--Hardvice (talk) 18:12, 2 May 2007 (EDT)

Admin

  • Hi, Ted. Are you interested in being an administrator here? (Admin 14:11, 3 May 2007 (EDT))
    • Sure. What would the job entail? --Ted C 15:01, 3 May 2007 (EDT)
      • Here's the job description. And welcome aboard! (I am now four for four on admin nominations; go me!)--Hardvice (talk) 15:04, 3 May 2007 (EDT)
        • Welcome aboard, Ted. Let us know if you have any questions, of course. :) Ryan"3-for-3"Stewart (talk) 15:15, 3 May 2007 (EDT)
          • Gratz mate :) Hope you do not plan to takeover the world now you have THE POWER! :) -- FrenchFlo (talk)        15:49, 3 May 2007 (EDT)
            • Everything is proceeding according to my design.</Sith> --Ted C 16:14, 3 May 2007 (EDT)
              • Aww man, I wanted to be an admin! :( <hint, hint> Heroe!(talk) (contribs) Random Page! 16:27, 3 May 2007 (EDT)
                • It might be worth noting that I never actually asked for the job. --Ted C 12:49, 11 May 2007 (EDT)
      • Ok, I've given you administrator privileges now. Two new administrators in one day... woo! (Admin 19:42, 3 May 2007 (EDT))
        • Congrats Ted on being new admin! Jason Garrick 21:42, 9 May 2007 (EDT)
          • So, when do more admins get picked? (ahem...) Heroe!(talk) (contribs) Random Page! 21:44, 9 May 2007 (EDT)
            • AHEM Heroe!(talk) (contribs) Random Page! 21:38, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
              • It's rare for us to add additional admins. There is no schedule, it's based on when we feel we need some additional help with administrative duties. There's not a big difference between being an admin and not being one. The wiki empowers all users to handle most management functions. (Admin 21:44, 10 May 2007 (EDT))

Mr. Petrelli

  • I don't think they've revealed Mr. Petrelli's first name. I suspect "James" might just be a rumor or misinformation. I changed the article back to "unnamed father". If you see any other references I recommend changing them back to "unnamed father" as well until there's credible proof. (Admin 17:32, 15 May 2007 (EDT))
    • No problem. --Ted C 17:34, 15 May 2007 (EDT)

Name Voting

You might want to add a line on your intro to the name voting for bliss and horror that voting doesn't necessarily mean that name will be chosen. For instance, if a bunch of people vote for a name that's very speculative in nature, or is just really too far out there, we certainly shouldn't use it. I just don't want to give the impression on any kind of voting that majority votes will automatically yield a name change. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:24, 11 June 2007 (EDT)

Update your vote

Talking of the new name consistency for Guillame, you said, "I'm good with it" referring to my suggesting of making it be consistent, and be 'Emotion(al) Manipulation'. But you didn't change your vote....mind moving it? Maybe we can get this finalized today. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 06/19/2007 14:23 (EST)

  • I actually moved it to Sensation Manipulation. I think "Sensation" is more accurate than "Emotion". Nonetheless, I've no major objection to "Emotion Manipulation". --Ted C 15:02, 19 June 2007 (EDT)

Ta

Nice edit on Objective Clairvoyance...i much prefer the new name.

Am i the only one who finds it annoying that Molly Walkers ability is really what you'd define as clairvoyance?-- --DavidBray 9:23, 21 June 2007 (EDT)

Patrolling

Hey, thanks for doing so much patrolling today. To patrol a new page (which includes new redirect), go to the very bottom of the page, right above the category bar. There should be a "[Mark this article as patrolled]" link on the bottom right. Also, I'm not sure if you're aware of it already or not, but to make your job easier, most browsers (Firefox in particular) will allow you to hit ALT+SHIFT+P to quickly patrol an article (though this only works for edits, not for new pages). Hope that helps. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:10, 3 July 2007 (EDT)

  • Thanks. I was wondering what the deal was with new articles. --Ted C 16:45, 4 July 2007 (EDT)

Watching Heroes

I'm assuming you don't have TiVo, poor soul. :) I'm pretty sure the episodes are usually hosted on RapidShare, but I know very little about it. I think I've seen some links on Got Heroes?, but that's about the most info I can give you--you'll probably have to do some digging. Also, I think FrenchFlo downloads episodes, but I don't really know much beyond that either. Check out Heroes#Video on Demand for some other options. Again, I can't speak from experience, just from what I've heard. Good luck--let me know what you find as your solution. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:45, 10 October 2007 (EDT)

  • If you get the stations G4 or MOJO, this might be of interest. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:29, 15 October 2007 (EDT)
    • I'll have to look into that. I still haven't been able to stream it off the NBC site, even turning off various components of Norton and Webroot. I finally just gave up and read the summaries here. I'll have to dig out the old VCR and get it going for next week, it seems. --Ted C 11:17, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
      • It's a curse, I'm telling you. I set my VCR to record Heroes last night. So naturally, when I get home from class, I find that there was apparently a power blip that flipped the breaker on the power strip feeding the VCR and TV. When do the reruns start? --Ted C 10:12, 23 October 2007 (EDT)
        • Season One marathon this weekend on G4. Season Two marathon next Saturday starting at 5pm eastern according to the press release. (Admin 10:17, 23 October 2007 (EDT))

Primatechpaper.com

I am having troube with primatechpaper.com and I was wondering if you could help me to get on the site. I go to the jobs pag...' (and the only contributor was 'Nick Petrelli')

I have no idea how to help with something like that; I've never spent much time messing with that site. --Ted C 10:41, 4 December 2007 (EST)

Hey there!

Haven't heard from you for awhile. Glad to see around, Ted! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:21, 7 February 2008 (EST)

  • Yeah, trying to stay ahead of mundane life issues, but I do try to check on the Wiki when I get a chance. --Ted C 13:23, 7 February 2008 (EST)

Talk:Portal:Future Characters

Can you come contribute to this discussion Talk:Portal:Future Characters when you get a free minute...trying to avoid a potential snowballing problem with all the new stuff being added. Thanks --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 09/23/2008 12:57 (EST)

Canonicity

You may want to see Help talk:Naming conventions#Hierarchy redux and afterward read Help talk:Naming conventions#2nd reason for continued discussion as to what is a canon source. It's related to the "gravitational manipulation" name discussion.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:41, 15 October 2008 (EDT)

Naming conventions

I noticed you removed Usutu's "nickname" and was wondering if you had a second to clarify what we consider a nickname. I started a discussion here. Thanks. --Stevehim 12:34, 10 November 2008 (EST)

  • The page had been vandalized; I didn't realize there was something valid there before. --Ted C 12:35, 10 November 2008 (EST)
    • Yea, it's Gabriel monroe and Linderman Mendez. I think the guy who was harassing Ryan is back with several accounts. I've been trying to keep up with undoing the stuff, but may have missed a few. I'm also guessing that Artist and EDD are the same person, but they haven't vandalized anything yet. --Stevehim 12:37, 10 November 2008 (EST)
      • I'd better look at Lindeman Mendez's posting history, then. --Ted C 12:38, 10 November 2008 (EST)
        • Short-term fix applied. --Ted C 12:40, 10 November 2008 (EST)
          • I'm not artist but I know him and he's an idiot. --EDD 12:45, 10 November 2008 (EST)

Edit Conflicts

Sorry about editing Sylar's page, I thought it would be ok to do so saying though the episode has already aired. Also how do I go about attempting to reach a consensus? --Benserajian 21.41, 11 November 2008 (GMT)

Hiro's power absorbtion

Because Arthur absorbed Peter's power of empathic mimicry, he is able to mimic the powers of those he is exposed to. When he stands next to and touches Hiro, I believe that qualifies as being within proximity to take his power. Now, he may take it using his own ability of power absorption, but he has absorbed the ability form Peter already. So just in case he doesn't already have the ability from that, Peter's ability would allow him to take it again. And I'm sure he could take it yet again with his own ability.

Sorry to but in, but in the BTE week 5 (I think it's 5), they said that because he has both empathic mimicry and power absorption, he can choose with which power to take a new ability, which implies that Arthur, unlike Peter, can "turn off" empathic mimicry, so we can't say for sure he has it because he has empathic mimicry and was near to Hiro. Intuitive Empath 10:15, 12 November 2008 (EST)

  • So... what does this have to do with me? I wasn't aware that I was engaged in a discussion over this. --Ted C 11:49, 12 November 2008 (EST)

Tried that but it did something weird.

I couldn't get the template for fan power and it instead created a fan creation so I cannot link it properly. Horrorman 10:17, 13 November (EST)

Please Unblock Linderman Mendez

Hello i just asking please unblock my friend Linderman Mendez.he indeed messed around at first but then we stopped becuase we thought we were making your job hard and we thought that the template was actually a real editer for our pages. so we got mixed up :(.we both appreciate your work and if you see our side of the argument plz understand what we are trying to say.also read this it may help.http://heroeswiki.com/User_talk:Ryangibsonstewart#Please_Unblock_Linderman_Mendez

thank you --Gabriel Bishop 12:24, 15 November 2008 (EST)Gabriel Bishop

Statistical curiosity

I just checked the site statistics, and with the current number of registered members, 0.07% are administrators. Funny isn't it? Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 16:49, 24 November 2008 (EST)

  • That figure doesn't include patrollers, though, and we've got more of those than admins, I think. Still, it's nice that the site stays in such good shape with relatively little overhead. We obviously have very good contributors. --Ted C 16:54, 24 November 2008 (EST)
  • Delayed reaction: 0.07% -- it just dawned on me. I guess that makes me an acceptable loss. --Ted C 16:56, 24 November 2008 (EST)

Flintfire

You said in his talk page you'd block him if he ever did anything like vandalism again, he blanked Tracy and Sylar. See at Special:Contributions/Flintfire1996. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 17:56, 18 December 2008 (EST)

  • I took care of it. Thanks for the alert, Intuitive Empath, and thanks for the initial warning Ted. I wouldn't have felt as comfortable blocking had he not been warned first. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:33, 18 December 2008 (EST)
