Welcome to Heroes Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you are new to Heroes, you might want to start at the New User Portal.
  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style.
  • If you're ready to get started, Template:Todo lists some ways you can help out.
  • Of course, if you have your own idea for a new article, that's great, too.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the Summary field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add --~~~~ or click the signature button.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to the end of your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for an administrator.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.

Once again, welcome to Heroes Wiki!

Non-Heroes articles

If you are creating articles about characters, abilities or other things not presented in Heroes, please be sure to keep them in your namespace. For instance, your Kenny King and Dylan Grunwald articles have been moved to User:Traphik94/Kenny King and User:Traphik94/Dylan Grunwald, respectively. Also, please add categories to the user images you upload. Add category user image by editing the image and putting [[Category:User Images]] on the image page after uploading the image.--MiamiVolts (talk) 21:56, 11 January 2009 (EST)

  • Essentially, that means if you want to create a fan article, you need to edit User:Traphik94/<article-name>, where <article-name> is whatever you would normally call the article. If you continue to add other fan characters or abilities as mainspace articles despite these warning, they may be considered spam and you could be blocked by an administrator. Anyways, welcome again to the Heroes Wiki. Some of your fan articles and image, like User:Traphik94/Aerokinesis, look rather cool. I hope that you can learn from these errors and become a contributing member of our community.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:13, 11 January 2009 (EST)
    • Remember what MiamiVolts told you. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 13:18, 12 January 2009 (EST)
      • Again, create your characters in your namespace. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 19:55, 12 January 2009 (EST)
        • Other users have properly instructed you in how to create pages in your user namespace. I will add that there shouldn't be red links to pages like "NAME OF EPISODE" or "Traphik94/Daniel Park (disambig)". It means we have to spend our time cleaning up. A fair amount of cleaning is certainly tolerated, but when you have been warned and instructed a number of times, it is not fair to others. If you have a question about how to properly create a page, feel free to ask. I (or just about anybody else here) will be more than willing to help you out. But if you create more pages in the main namespace, administrative action will have to be taken. Thank you. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:09, 12 January 2009 (EST)
          • It looks like you are continuing to make red links that aren't needed. For instance, "Transformation" is not a page at Heroes Wiki, and should not be. User:Traphik94/Transformation is a red link, but it's okay on your user pages. Please use that link instead. Whenever you save a page (or preview a page, preferably) and you see red text, go back add "User:Traphik94/" to the beginning of the link so that it is a link in your user namespace.

Additionally, you are still creating several articles in the main namespace that do not belong. Like the links, every page you create that has to do with your novel and fan fiction should begin with "User:Traphik94/", like User:Traphik94/Desmonde Downing. I'm not sure how else to explain this to you. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:02, 14 January 2009 (EST)

            • Thank you for creating your user pages in the user namespace. If you have any questions as you go along, feel free to ask. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:42, 17 January 2009 (EST)
  • Glad to see you know what to do know :) Gabriel Bishop 10:36, 17 January 2009 (EST) Gabriel Bishop
    • As RGS also stated, it'd be appreciated if you could refrain from making unneeded red links. A vast majority of the red links on the wanted pages list are on your user pages. Please try your best to clean them up, and refrain from making those unnecessary red links in the future. Thanks. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 20:53, 17 January 2009 (EST)
      • Again, please keep this in mind. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 19:29, 18 January 2009 (EST)
        • Once again, please keep this in mind. Please try not to make unneeded red links. I'm going to remind you as many times as necessary for the message to sink in. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 13:33, 19 January 2009 (EST)
        • Oh keep what thrashmeister said in mind Gabriel Bishop 14:25, 19 January 2009 (EST) Gabriel Bishop

Red links

For no apparent reason, I took the liberty of removing all your red links. -- Tristan0709 talk 04:17, 18 January 2009 (EST)

  • I am still finding a ton of red links on your user pages that don't belong there. Rather than taking the time to edit them and sort out the red links, I may just delete the page. Please do not add red links on your user pages anymore. If you don't know what this means, please ask me on my talk page. Thank you. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:33, 9 February 2009 (EST)

Requests

  • Hi, Traphik94. Is there any confusion about the requests a few others have made regarding the red links on your user pages? If so, please let me know. You can just add your reply here, however please do reply to this message. Thank you. (Admin 22:49, 19 January 2009 (EST))
    • yes I don't really know how to get rid of them.
      • One thing you can do to make it easier would be to just copy one of your existing pages each time and then modify that instead of using the button that inserts the template. That button adds a lot of things that are meant to be customized and edited. For normal articles it's ok because there are many people who will eventually customize them, but for user pages it generally falls on you to make sure they're cleaned up. If you take one of your existing pages and just copy that instead from now on then it should help ensure that your new pages only have the information they need rather than all the default info from the template. Also, you can just reply right here instead of on my talk page. At the end of your messages, please add --~~~~ which will add a signature so people know who posted. Thanks! :) (Admin 13:02, 20 January 2009 (EST))

ok thank you for your help

  • Apparently, you're still confused, as you keep creating red links on your pages. I don't think it can be made any more plainer how you can do this. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 07:25, 22 January 2009 (EST)

well i dont know wat im doing wrong

  • I'd recommend not using the button at the top of the page when creating the new articles. Instead just view the text of an existing one and copy and paste that with your changes. (Admin 17:10, 23 January 2009 (EST))

ok ill do that
