* Mohinder's opening scene in Genesis is labeled "3 days ago". Would that make it ... September 27? That would make Chandra's death sometime around Sep 26 or 27.--Hardvice <small>(talk)</small> 23:56, 29 November 2006 (EST)

I added a bunch of span IDs for the October dates, and some other key dates from the past. I tried to think of every way a person might link to that date because we obviously have been unable to standardize our date format. However, I've already found a couple of other ways (October 11 2006 vs. October 11, 2006 ... and then there's 11 October). I have no idea what to do -- I don't think adding more span IDs is the best option (I already think the ones I added are too many), so I guess the only option is to go through the site and standardize the format. Ugh. In any case, span IDs to all the events with dates have been added. ... "This article still needs a lot of work," says the <font color=#0147FA>broken</font> <font color=#0147FA>record</font>. 17:19, 31 March 2007 (EDT)
*Yes, good catch! Sounds right to me... - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:54, 30 November 2006 (EST)
:Good job there. I guess the span IDs are the quickest solution available for now to allow event/date-linking to the Timeline article. --Mercury McKinnon 01:01, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
::Well, I think we were late in getting a good timeline set up, and despite the great contributions from you and others, it's still not "great". Worse, we don't have a standardized date format. So you're right, I guess span ids are quick and dirty way to remedy our problems (though what I did was just a drop in the bucket of what needs to be done). &mdash; <font color=#0147FA>RyanGibsonStewart</font> (<font color=#0147FA>talk</font>) 12:37, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
:::We still don't have a "good" timeline. The first five episodes can't be fully reconciled, particularly for Niki.--Hardvice <small>(talk)</small> 13:42, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

Homecoming
November
So in Godsend, Nathan mentions over the phone to Meredith that the election is in two weeks, but shortly thereafter Hiro notes to Ando that the explosion takes place in less than two weeks. So, two weeks before the explosion would mean that at the earliest, Hiro made that comment on 26 October. We can conclude The Fix takes place the next day with Peter and Claude's interaction on the Deveaux Building. With Hiro seeing his father that night, Distractions seems to take place the next day with their dialog occurring in the day. Sandra's visit with the neurologist would most likely be the day after her hit to the head, which would place Run! on the next day, being 29 Oct (at the earliest). With Parasite occurring three days after Zane's murder (the online article), that would make Parasite (at the earliest) 1 Nov. Using the assumption that no breaks in the episodes occurred less than a day, that would mean Parasite, in the "worst" case, would have to occur in November.
* The episode Homecoming keeps mentioning the homecoming game and then the dance. Wouldn't that be more likely to be a Friday (Oct. 20) than a Sunday (Oct. 22)? Where did the 22nd date come from? --Fcphantom 01:39, 30 November 2006 (EST)
** Well, 3 weeks from Monday the 1st... I don't like it either, High School Homecomings are almost always a Friday or a Saturday. --Orne 11:36, 30 November 2006 (EST)
*** She probably just didn't mean "three weeks" literally. If something was happening 19-20 days from now, I'd say "three weeks", even though it's not 3 weeks to the day. Of course, that makes our job harder (and quite likely impossible)--Hardvice <small>(talk)</small> 11:46, 30 November 2006 (EST)

So, without objection, I will put Parasite in November.--Bob 01:31, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
Hiro's Return
*That's fine for now, in my opinion, but I have a feeling we won't get any official confirmation on anything until the season finale. &mdash; <font color=#0147FA>RyanGibsonStewart</font> (<font color=#0147FA>talk</font>) 06:04, 3 April 2007 (EDT)
* <s>Is it safe to assume Hiro returned to the present on Oct 22 if he had to fly from Japan and take a bus? I'm guessing he probably came back at least a day early.</s>--Hardvice <small>(talk)</small> 13:05, 30 November 2006 (EST)

Deletion
Time between Charlie's murder and Homecoming
In Claire's blog on her myspace page it suggests that there is a week or two between Charlie's murder and Homecoming.

This page should definitely be deleted, but let's just wait a bit--at least until after the season finale. Some of the pages have been changes a LOT, and I'd just like to make some comparisons with what we had here. (Though if I'm the only who cares, we can go ahead and delete it and I'll view the deleted edits on my own.) &mdash; <font color=#0147FA>RyanGibsonStewart</font> (<font color=#0147FA>talk</font>) 17:54, 29 April 2007 (EDT)

* Yeah, I archived it just in case, at least for a reference point if we needed something from it. I'm used to just having continuity binders where we look back five years ago to see how we did something and what prompted a change. It's kind of worthless, but you never know when you need something.--Bob 18:16, 29 April 2007 (EDT)
--Level 14:22, 30 November 2006 (EST)
** Any reason to keep this around still? It always comes up in my searches, which is really annoying, and can be really bad since it hasn't been updated in forever. I understand the importance of keeping archives, but all this information--and more--is contained on the current timeline, right? Plus, if we really need to keep it for some reason, it's better off in somebody's userspace. But in the end, I think we're safe just tossing it. -- 21:06, 26 August 2008 (EDT)
* Claire's blog isn't the show, though. Was Ando really sitting there in the diner for a week or two? Would they really allow that?--Hardvice <small>(talk)</small> 14:28, 30 November 2006 (EST)
***Everything is on there. The gaps that were on there were filled from GN's a while ago. So I'd say it's safe to ax.-- 21:54, 26 August 2008 (EDT)

Span IDs

I added a bunch of span IDs for the October dates, and some other key dates from the past. I tried to think of every way a person might link to that date because we obviously have been unable to standardize our date format. However, I've already found a couple of other ways (October 11 2006 vs. October 11, 2006 ... and then there's 11 October). I have no idea what to do -- I don't think adding more span IDs is the best option (I already think the ones I added are too many), so I guess the only option is to go through the site and standardize the format. Ugh. In any case, span IDs to all the events with dates have been added. ... "This article still needs a lot of work," says the broken record. 17:19, 31 March 2007 (EDT)

Good job there. I guess the span IDs are the quickest solution available for now to allow event/date-linking to the Timeline article. --Mercury McKinnon 01:01, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
Well, I think we were late in getting a good timeline set up, and despite the great contributions from you and others, it's still not "great". Worse, we don't have a standardized date format. So you're right, I guess span ids are quick and dirty way to remedy our problems (though what I did was just a drop in the bucket of what needs to be done). — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:37, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
We still don't have a "good" timeline. The first five episodes can't be fully reconciled, particularly for Niki.--Hardvice (talk) 13:42, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

So, without objection, I will put Parasite in November.--Bob 01:31, 3 April 2007 (EDT)

  • That's fine for now, in my opinion, but I have a feeling we won't get any official confirmation on anything until the season finale. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:04, 3 April 2007 (EDT)

Deletion

This page should definitely be deleted, but let's just wait a bit--at least until after the season finale. Some of the pages have been changes a LOT, and I'd just like to make some comparisons with what we had here. (Though if I'm the only who cares, we can go ahead and delete it and I'll view the deleted edits on my own.) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:54, 29 April 2007 (EDT)

  • Yeah, I archived it just in case, at least for a reference point if we needed something from it. I'm used to just having continuity binders where we look back five years ago to see how we did something and what prompted a change. It's kind of worthless, but you never know when you need something.--Bob 18:16, 29 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Any reason to keep this around still? It always comes up in my searches, which is really annoying, and can be really bad since it hasn't been updated in forever. I understand the importance of keeping archives, but all this information--and more--is contained on the current timeline, right? Plus, if we really need to keep it for some reason, it's better off in somebody's userspace. But in the end, I think we're safe just tossing it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:06, 26 August 2008 (EDT)
      • Everything is on there. The gaps that were on there were filled from GN's a while ago. So I'd say it's safe to ax.--Bob (talk) 21:54, 26 August 2008 (EDT)
