******* It doesn't work yet. Templates aren't technically part of the mainspace, so can this one just sit here until we get it to work? If Admin doesnt feel like changing the code or whatever, then by all means delete the template.--Piemanmoo 19:01, 5 January 2009 (EST) |

******** The template mainspace is a main namespace, but not the main namespace. Practice has been that templates that don't work are removed or moved to a user's namespace, and I think the main reason is so people don't waste their time trying to use them. Besides, if Admin changes the code to use the extension I noted, this template will not be needed. I don't see the point in keeping it around.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:48, 5 January 2009 (EST) |

Hmm...
It seems like it's missing some javascript. It seems to work on other wikis, but not here. Anyone know how to get this to work?--Piemanmoo 21:22, 4 January 2009 (EST)
- The best way to do this is for Admin to make USERNAME an internal server template like PAGENAME. This isn't going to work the way it's currently implemented, so I've added an afd.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:30, 4 January 2009 (EST)
- If it is desired to add this feature to this wiki, there exists an extension called Extension:Variables which can be added to add a CURRENTUSER magic word that does what you want. I personally don't see the reason for it, though.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:36, 4 January 2009 (EST)

- The purpose is just something fun. Nothing more, nothing less. It would mostly be used on userpages, since I can't see any use for it in the mainspace. If admin could add that line of code in that would be super cool, though.--Piemanmoo 12:31, 5 January 2009 (EST)

- Regardless of it's purpose, this current implementation doesn't work so I think it should be deleted or moved to Piemanmoo's userspace.--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:00, 5 January 2009 (EST)
- It doesn't work yet. Templates aren't technically part of the mainspace, so can this one just sit here until we get it to work? If Admin doesnt feel like changing the code or whatever, then by all means delete the template.--Piemanmoo 19:01, 5 January 2009 (EST)
