Interview with RQA

Okey dokey, everybody...I will be interviewing Robert Atkins pretty soon. We're working out details for dates etc., but feel free to post questions in the meantime. Robert is pretty open on 9th Wonders, but for those of you who don't know, Robert has illustrated the graphic novels Pieces of Me and Bounty Hunter. General Questions

• For Pieces of Me and Bounty Hunter, you've just done the line art (penciling). However, you have also been an inker and a colorist. How does the experience compare for you? Do you like having someone else do the coloring for you or would you rather do that yourself?

• According to your profile, your career as an artist spans just 5 years. What was your career before that?
• What is your dream job as an artist? What or who would you like to create? Would the subject be new or already something that's canon? Who or what has been your biggest influence in wanting to create comics (or, who do you wanna thank for being able to get to this point in your career?)? 'ROESian
• When you're given freedom to draw a new character as you wish, do you normally go for film or tv references? Do you ever use your friends/contacts for character appearances? Have you ever included a self-portrait in one of your comics?
• Have you followed the show from the beginning? If so, do you have any preferences for characters you would like to draw? Which characters do you find most challenging to draw? Yes, we'll accept including Mr. Muggles. ;)
• Who is your favorite TMNT character to draw?
• Is there a chance that you'll do a graphic novel with a main character on the show?....preferably Niki.

• Were you provided a reference for Ryan Covington's appearance?

Bounty Hunter

• Linda Tavara is obvious a repeat character, so you had a reference for her drawing. But were you provided a reference for the mystery woman's appearance or the other new people Linda met (i.e. Pamela)?
• Do you know if Pamela is Pam Green?
• Do you know the name of Linda's informant?

Thanks for fixing up those odd little typos and non-printing characters. I was transcribing the interview by firelight, and I didn't have Word--let alone internet--out there in the woods. (By the way, a Sony Vaio makes a really good flashlight!) All transcribing was done in that silly notepad application that comes with every computer, so I guess weird characters are inherent.   • Cool. I think it was Interview:Chuck Kim really opened my eyes to the foreign language sites. Now, whenever I send out press for an interview, I always include the moderators and webmasters of as many foreign-language sites as I can find.
