Upon preventing the [[Shanti Virus]] from being released, [[Nathan]], [[Matt]], and [[Peter]] organize a plan to expose [[the Company]] in order to prevent any mishaps planned by the [[the Company founders|previous generation]] to come to fruition in the future. Nathan decides that he will hold a press conference in which he will expose the Company, as well as reveal his own [[flight|ability]]. He tells Matt to [[telepathy|convince]] the audience to listen to him, as many people do not know who he is. |

At the press conference, Nathan, at the podium, flanked by Matt and Peter, introduces himself as a former New York Congress. He also goes on to say that there are many seemingly ordinary people in our world who have extraordinary abilities. He also says that there are other people, other organizations, who are working against those people. Finally, he starts to reveal his ability of flight, when in mid-sentence, he is shot twice in the chest by an unknown assassin. Chaos and cacophony erupt in the press room as Nathan falls to the ground. Peter catches him, and with his last breath, Nathan mouths "Peter" and dies. |

Later, [[Angela Petrelli]] is watching a news report on the assassination of Nathan while talking on the phone to Nathan's assassin. She says that it was unavoidable because Nathan would have exposed the Company. She then warns the assassin that they have "opened Pandora's box" as she hangs up. |
