Guesses on Nathan's Assassin?

I was thinking this over for the longest time trying to see if this assassin was anyone we know and i only came to the conclusion now that i think i know who it may be... so im gonna state my thought and please feel free to post your opinions.

I think it was Noah Bennet. I only think this because Nathan, Matt, and Peter were being filmed when they were talking about bringing it public... and since the surveillance belonged to the company, there were really only two people who have high enough order to do anything about it. Angela and Bob. And since a while before the episode Noah said he would work for Bob again... what better way to get back in the grove than having enough experience than to assassinate someone and get out cleanly? Noah "is a pretty good shot" and could have easily pulled that off.

Thats my guess... any others?--.Vault 20:39, 4 December 2007 (EST)

  • I'm pretty sure it'll be Noah. It will certainly be a nice bookend to the "deal" he made with the Company. Afterall, we really don't know the details of that deal, but Noah seemed pretty torn up about it. I'm curious to learn what Angela has to do with it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:41, 4 December 2007 (EST)
    • I posted mine about West beeing the assassin in the apropriate section but I'm not very sure it is accurate héhé ^^ -- Frenchflo.gif (talk) 10:19, 6 December 2007 (EST)
  • I think the assasin may be West, cause when he received the file, he may have had a way to contact them, and ask (speculation) to do something for them to protect Claire.Horrorman 25:09, 14 December 2007 (EST)

  • I Think Nathan's Assassin is his own Father, Arthur Petrelli, because for over two volumes now, the condition of his supposed death have been unclear at best. Also in the Group of Twelve picture Mr. Petrelli's face is obscured and would explain the similarities in the walk of the assailant and Peter in the future. Mr. Petrelli could have faked his death with support of his wife in an effort to uncover some kind of conspiracy within the company. Angela stayed behind to present a face for the original bomb plan, but he may have disappeared to find a way to keep this all a secret. Nathan going public would put a kibosh on all those plans. --BridgecrewDave
  • I think it is Arthur or Angela Petrelli--Psilaq

Assassin vs. Assailant

I think assassin is the wrong word. We didn't get confirmation that Nathan was dead either at the scene or in the news report. Plus, I don't think Nathan would call the person *his* assassin.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:32, 6 December 2007 (EST)

  • I agree with you, an assassin is someone who did kill their target. Nathan is not necessarily dead right now.--Mourning Sage 17:04, 6 December 2007 (EST)
  • Personally, I don't think the name matters so much. Assailant sounds just as good as assassin. However, the TV news report did say that Nathan was shot by an "unknown assassin." Also, I find it hard to believe that Nathan could survive two gunshots in the chest. It looked like he got shot in his heart and his right lung (ouch...). Perhaps Nathan is revived, but he seems very dead right now. Of course, there is no confirmation for any of this.--Ice Vision 17:57, 6 December 2007 (EST)
    • I double-checked. You're right, the new report did say "assassin". Can we use that as a confirmation of Nathan's death? If not, I think the fact that the name is technically incorrect deserves at least a note so I've added one.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:32, 6 December 2007 (EST)
      • I don't think the reporter had any confirmation of the death--it's probably just a knee-jerk reaction to the events. The name is not necessarily incorrect, but we should note that the name may be incorrect since Nathan's fate is unknown. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:05, 6 December 2007 (EST)
        • Ok, I changed the note. Do you have any preference on the name itself? I think if we are to be canon, then we should go with "unknown assassin" as previously we had "hooded killer" instead of "Kaito's killer".--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:24, 6 December 2007 (EST)
          • I'd say assassain is pretty much Canon, seeing as how that's what he was referred to in an episode, which, AFAIK, is considered canon.--Yamawhata? (talk) 20:51, 6 December 2007 (EST)
          • The note looks good. I guess I have a slight preference for "unknown assassin", but I don't personally care too much one way or the other, and won't oppose any of the very good suggestions put forth so far. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:55, 6 December 2007 (EST)
            • Ok, so we are left between unknown and Nathan's assassin. Starting consensus check below.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:10, 6 December 2007 (EST)
