We need to be very careful about avoiding anything that directly shows a causal relationship between the food and Matt's trance. Likewise for the Walkman. We have no idea what really caused to the trance, so we need to not say things like "Matt ate the food so he could go into a trance" or "Matt went into a trance because he put on the headphones" or "Usutu gives Matt food that gets him into a state of precognition" or "The Walkman has similar effects on Matt" or "Usutu uses a Walkman to create prophetic paintings".
