Video on demand
Episodes of Heroes are available to be viewed as video on demand (VOD) on several different mediums. VODs of the first episode of the series was available as a VOD before it was broadcasted.
Amazon
The episodes are available for download on to your computer a day after it was broadcasted for $1.99 per episode or $49.99 for the entire season. It can only be viewed with the Amazon Unbox Video Player which is available as a free download on Amazon.
iTunes
iTunes is a digital media player application for playing and organizing digital music and video files. The pilot episode for Heroes was available for a free download on iTunes on September 1, 2006, three weeks before it appeared on network television. Since then, episodes of Heroes has consistently appeared among the top 10 shows downloaded on iTunes. The episodes are available for download on to your computer or MP3 player a day after it was broadcasted for $1.99 per episode or $49.99 for the entire season.
