Also, Mohinder didn't invent the formula; the Company figured it out long before he was born. They may have kept samples of uncatalyzed serum in storage. - Why would the Company keep samples of an unstable, deadly formula (the elephant man didn't die because of the formula, but he was in extreme pain)? - According to Angela, the Company decided to stop producing the formula and playing God, that's why they divided and hid it. • If you have samples of a highly dangerous substance which takes the concept of 'hazardous waste' to nightmare-inducing heights, how are you going to dispose of it? Any method of disposal could potentially end with it escaping into the environment. Imagine an area where all the people are deranged freaks with superpowers. • Peter destroyed the Strain 138 of Shanti virus using induced radioactivity, and Mohinder destroyed some vials just by throwing a stool into them. The virus was far more dangerous than the formula. + Induced radioactivity appears to be an extraordinarily rare power, and it is unlikely that the Company had one on hand. Second, all Mohinder accomplished by throwing that stool was to spread the liquid samples around. Seeing as the Company members did not run out of the room screaming, those samples were likely non-contagious (or at least only worked if injected). • Those were catalyzed formula vials.
