November 8th is the date that the nuclear explosion is expected to go off, as seen in Don't Look Back. It is also the date that Hiro travels to New York City, and is investigated by Detective Furakowa about Isaac's death in his appartment. To prove the date to Hiro, the detective shows him a newspaper which reads "Petrelli Wins in Landslide".
