Austin was the code name of a soldier who went on a secret mission in the Vietnam War.

Character History

Graphic Novel:War Buddies, Part 2

In 1968, Austin is on a boat with his war buddies en route to a Vietnamese base. He is a loner who likes to read books. When Loredo snatches his book away, Dallas tries (to no avail) to get Austin to open up. Suddenly, a shoot-out occurs. After the death of all his companions except Dallas, Austin uses his powers to completely heal Dallas's wound.

Graphic Novel:War Buddies, Part 2

Austin and Dallas continue their mission: to find a downed Skyhawk. After Dallas interrogates a Vietnamese soldier about the Skyhawk's location by beating him up brutally, he always asks Austin to use his powers to heal the soldier and resume with beating him. After finding the plane, surrounded by dead soldiers, right outside the target, a peaceful village called Au Co, Dallas plans to destroy it and all its inhabitants. A hesitant Austin refuses to join the massacre but ultimately says he'll do it.

Powers

Austin has the ability to heal others, which he uses to heal Dallas's gunshot wound. He says that this is not the first time he has used his power.
