The burly guy is playing ball toss at the carnival. A little girl wants to play as well, but the guy tells her to "watch and learn". The guy gives the game operator some money, and begins throwing balls, but unknown to him, the game operator is using telekinesis to make him lose each time. After all three of his balls miss, he angrily storms off.
Later, the burly guy approaches Samuel, the one who is in charge of the carnival. He is mad that the carnival ripped him off, but Samuel denies it and calls the guy "unskilled". Furious, the guy repeatedly punches Samuel, and then breaks a glass to attack Claire. However, he sees Claire regenerate and runs off, shocked.
As Gretchen drives away from the carnival, she drives past the burly guy's truck. In the back of the truck, the burly guy's body lies lifeless and bloody.
