A massive nuclear explosion takes place in New York, NY on November 8th. First seen in a painting by Isaac Mendez, then viewed first hand by Hiro Nakamura while he was in the future, this is the foremost plot point of the series so far. It is likely connected to the "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World" message.
Fan Theories
- In Nothing to Hide, the character Theodore Sprague intimates that if he were to die, he could explode like an atomic bomb. It is hypothesized that he is the cause of this event.
