Mr. Petrelli is Nathan and Peter's late father. According to his widow Angela, he was diagnosed with major depressive disorder at age 23. He committed suicide after two other failed attempts, all of which were covered up as heart attacks. According to Nathan, he was in some way indebted to Mr. Linderman. He evidently left his wife considerably wealthy.
