Clach is a name given to the shippage between Claire Bennet and Zach.

As seen in Gensis, Claire has stoped talking to Zach in the 6th grade. They are now both 17 and what appears to be juniors at Union Wells High School in Odessa, TX.

Despite the initial inclanations of the Executive Producer/Creator Tim Kring and another Executive Producer Byran Fuller, is also gay and out; Zach has been made straight mid-season (Season 1), for reasons that are unknown to the general fandom of the show. This de-gaying has caused and uproar in the fandom, by those who are disappointed because they looked at Zach as positive out-n-proud role model for those sexual confused and in their teenage years. It also upset the ambigorous nature of certain comments made by Zach himself, and mean spirited Jackie's rude teasing comments. However, in Homecoming-no matter what your stance was, most of the fandom cheered when Claire layed Jackie out with one solid punch to the face.

Clach shippers on the other hand could see the chemistry between both Zach and Claire from the very beginning. In Gensis when they were walking down the dirt road talking about how Zach nearly fudged himself after witnessing Claire's recorded plummet off of a 70-80 construction bridge and just get up and "put herself back together again". There are many many other instances of an underlying love brewing between both Zach and Claire for the reminder of the first of Season 1.

Zach's willingness to keep Claire's secret throughout the entire time.

Zach's efforts to get Claire to "embrace her inner-freak" throughout the entire time.

Claire went to Zach after waking on the autspy table in Collison after Brody attempted to rape her in Giant Leap, and not telling anyone else until the next episode of Hiros-after she rammed Brody's car (with Brody in it) into a wall at the end of Collison.

Claire no longer puts on her "mask" for Zach the entire time, evidence as seen in Don't look back when she bitched to him about Jackie taking credit for her heroic act in Gensis.

Zach giving Activiting Evolution by Chandra Suresh to Claire in Homecoming. And Claire's realization that Zach has always been kind to her and she's not been so kind in return.

Claire inviting Zach as her homecoming date in Homecoming.

The smile on Claire's face when she realizes it's Zach on her cellular device, texting her from outside her window in Homecoming.

There will always be those who will argue that Zach's comment about denying his initial flirting with Claire with "trust me" being signs of him admitting to his gayness and then they will use the letting Claire down for not going as her date to the homecoming dance; but a las Zach never used the words "I am gay!" and if he's supposedly so out-n-proud than he would've said them and/or at the very least Claire would've never had to ask if Zach was flirting with her, she'd have known he was gay.

To Clach-ers we see all of this "flirting" and "trust" as, without a doubt, signs to show that Claire and Zach are in-love and belong together for a long time to come.

Despite, Zach's alter-ego Thomas Dekker inking a contract to do the Pilot of Sara Conor Chronociles (which will bomb-there's a huge difference between box office numbers [$$] and TV Rating numbers), he is still going to be playing Zach for at least the rest of Season 1.
