In November 2001, Farah Nazan sees Youssef being savagely beaten in the street because of what other members of Youssef's religion committed on 9/11. Youssef's attackers do not stop even when he tells them that the USA is his country too. Farah decides to intervene by turning invisible and incapacitating Youssef's attackers. Youssef thanks Farah by giving her a bag of free pomegranates and tells her that, despite her humility, she is a godsend.
