Talk:Tattooed thug
I propose a rename to "Tattooed thug". What we lose in detail (regarding the fact that the tattoo was one of Jesus) we gain in having a more streamlined, standardized article name that is also in keeping with the fellow thugs (hoodied thug, heavy thug, big thug). --Radicell (talk) 20:47, 27 October 2015 (EDT)
- Agree. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:45, 27 October 2015 (EDT)
- I agree. It also helps that the rest of the thugs in that group don't have tattoos that we know of. -Kon (talk) 21:46, 27 October 2015 (EDT)
I'm in favor of "Jesus tattooed thug" as a better name, which is more in-line with the other character names, and helps to identify this thug from other characters that have tattoos that may also be called thugs.--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:45, 28 October 2015 (EDT)
- I was thinking along the same lines as MiamiVolts. -Lөvөl 15:43, 28 October 2015 (EDT)
- "Jesus tattooed" doesn't strike me as being grammatically correct, though. It seems a bit ambiguous as it could be misconstrued as a phrase saying "Jesus gave the thug a tattoo" and would at least require a hyphen to fix this, i.e., "Jesus-tattooed thug". I'm still in favor of just "Tattooed thug" though, simply because the thug has multiple tattoos and the name has an appropriate degree of specificity. --Radicell (talk) 21:25, 28 October 2015 (EDT)
- In that case, my preference is the hyphenated version ("Jesus-tattooed thug"). I am also equally okay with "Teardrop-tattooed thug" or "Facial tattooed thug", as he is the only character in the Tattoos article with a facial tattoo (a teardrop on his cheek), and facial tattoos are normally a more visible identifier.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:49, 29 October 2015 (EDT)
- It's still more wordy and detailed than is necessary, though. We don't need to specify what tattoos the thug has, even though there are other thugs with tattoos, because all such other thugs have other names that we've named their articles. It's the same reasoning why we don't have to call the hoodied thug "blue-hoodied thug" even though there are other thugs in the Heroes universe that wear hoodies (such as Mohinder's mugger (II). --Radicell (talk) 12:56, 1 November 2015 (EST)
