Ventura is the spin-off of Total Power. It takes place a few weeks after the Total Power finale, and focuses primarily on Alvinho Ventura, a fugitive in Portugal. The premiere will be released on December 27, 2008 and the rest of Season One will begin on March 28, 2009.
Season 1
Volume One: Survival
In Volume 1, Alvinho is a fugitive who is being hunted down in Portugal. Volume One began with the premiere.
Chapter One - On the Run
Alvinho walks out of his house with a football. Suddenly, a few older boys come along and start punching him. They knock him to the ground and start to kick him, which only angers Alvinho. He lets out a scream which sends the boys flying back. He gets up, and all of a sudden his wounds start to heal. Alvinho, shocked by his newfound abilities, is about to see if he has super strength and prepares to hit the two bullies, but his hands start glowing. He tries to stop it, but after minutes of trying, he can’t. Soon, his entire body is glowing, and he explodes. The blast destroys everything and everyone in his street.
Alvinho runs into his house to find his pets dead and everything else dead. He walks into the kitchen and sees that his sister Ana is alive, having healed from the explosion. She asks Alvinho what happened, and he says he exploded. He says that before he exploded, he could heal and make supersonic screams. Ana realises that Alvinho is a mimic – someone who can copy the abilities of others. Ana says that only two known mimics exist – him and someone from New York. Ana and Alvinho suddenly realize that their mother couldn’t heal, and that she has died in the explosion.
The following week, at Mrs Ventura’s funeral, some policemen arrive to question Alvinho and Ana. One policeman says that no-one could have survived a nuclear explosion, and asks how they survived it. When they can’t explain it, the policemen arrest them.
They are taken to a jail, where they are questioned by a psychiatrist. When they are about to tell the psychiatrist everything, they are suddenly released. One of the policemen says that a man bailed them out. As he is escorting them out, he admits he lied. He says his name is Tom Drake and he knows all about evolved humans. He shoots Ana in the head, making her unable to heal and killing her. Tom shoots Alvinho, but the bullet phases right through him. Alvinho phases through the walls of the police station and runs away.
Two years later, in November 2008, Alvinho is in a old abandoned hut eating cold pizza. He has been on the run in Europe for two years, and he has went from Portugal to Italy in those two years. He says it’s time to go home. As he leaves the hut, he is met by a man who introduces himself as Ricardo Silva.
Alvinho travels with Ricardo back to Portugal, where Alvinho sees his nephew, Sergio, at the airport. Alvinho says that he has been on the run for the past two years. When Sergio asks who Ricardo is, Ricardo says that he is Alvinho’s father. Ricardo is about to explain everything to Alvinho, but suddenly the S.W.A.T. team arrives and aim their guns at Alvinho, Sergio and Ricardo.
