Character History

Backstory

ORIGIN
Sasha is a teenager that has been in the foster car program since her parents died in an automobile accident in 2000. She grew very withdrawn and guarded through the years. She manifested just before her 16th birthday. Due to her ability, she found everything come easier. She seemed to be consumed with the need to learn more, to experience more.
One day at school she saw another girl and for some reason was drawn to her. There was something different about her. She was withdrawn and shy and not worth noticing before but something changed. She was considered a freak because she never seemed to forget anything. For some reason she could not stop thinking about her followed her around all day. The other girl noticed and confronted her after school. Sasha was at a loss. She did not know why she was following her. She had no explanation for why she was staring so intently at her. She composed herself enough to strike up a conversation. Lori did not like being stared at but Sasha concocted a story about her looking like her sister. A sister that was sent to a different foster home. A sister that she had not seen for years. Lori accepted it and took pity on her and they walked away together.
They struck up a friendship over the following months and Lori demonstrated that she had a knack for remembering almost every fact she was exposed to. One day they found themselves at Lori's house while her parents were out (they did not approve of Lori having friends over). Sasha could normally control her staring but today she had no success and found herself staring at Lori constantly. Lori was a little put off by it but she valued her only friend. They went into the garage looking for some materials for a project. What happened next was a blur. A can of paint fell of the shelf and hit Lori square in the head causing her to slump to the floor. Sasha found herself focused on Lori and her head. She glanced at an axe in the corner and felt an urge to take it to Lori's head. She felt a need to examine her head closely. It took all of her will to just walk away and get help. Lori went to the hospital and eventually recovered but their relationship was not the same. Sasha felt hounded by what she almost did to her only friend. Sasha felt a need to tell Lori all that actually happened but could not. Sasha remembered everything from that fateful day. Actually she pretty much remembered everything now. She was afraid of how she felt and ran away. She needed to get away from people she cared about for their own good.

Journey to New York

RYAN
Sasha made her way towards the East Coast and ended up in New York. She was making money hustling people on the street using her abilities until she ran into a bad loser who roughed her up a bit. She was rescued by a group of young toughs. In gratitude she joined them hustling passer-byes. Everything was going well and she started to get close to one of the guys in particular, Ryan. She would come to realize that he was special and developing his own gift. The two became inseperable. She confided in him her whole life story and guided him in the development of his gift. All was well until Cory (the defacto leader) of the group discovered Ryan practicing. He decided to use this skill to knock over a liquor store. Ryan was afraid of Cory and agreed only requesting that they leave Sasha out of it. Sasha found out about it from Cory's sister and went to get Ryan out before it was too late. By the time she got there, the area was under police control. It appears that the robbery went wrong and the owner had defended himself. Ryan lay dead and Cory shot in the thigh. She could not approach but glared angrily at Cory. So much so that the stretcher that his being move in overturned. She realized that she had somehow gained Ryan's ability. Cory started ranting about Ryan moving things with his mind and pointed towards were he had seen Sasha to single her out as well, but she was gone. A split second later Cory's neck snapped. He was dead and everyone at the scene was confused. She left. As she walked she passed an ATM machine and telekinetically scanned it. She looked around as she turned the corner and surveyed the area. Not a lot of traffic. She had a mental picture of the internal workings of the machine and an understanding of how it worked. This coupled with her eidetic memory she deactivated the camera by severing all cables leading from the camera. She approached the machine and manipulated it into releasing all of its money. She quickly pocketed the money and left.
AFTERMATH
She did not know what to do. She murdered someone in cold blood and lost the only friend she truly felt a connection with. She deduced that there were others out there like Ryan and herself. She needed to find a place to belong. She went to Starbucks and was having a coffee when she noticed a guy speed around the corner and catch a baby that was falling from a second story window across the street. She found another person like her. He was young, 20 or 21 the most and to her he looked out of place. Before she realized it, he was staring at her same as she was staring at him. He knew, she thought. Perhaps there was more in common than she thought. She started the follow him as he walked away. She tailed him down a less busy street when all of the sudden she lost him. She did not like that at all and she liked it even less when she spun around and him behind her. He started the speak and she tried to telekinetically push him away y and failed. She tried to get a grasp on why she could not push him away and realized she couldn't. She got scared and bolted. She decided she would have to be more careful approaching others in the future. She also came to the realization that the man was probably suppressing her abilities. As she made her way back to the hustle and bustle of the city she failed to notice that someone else had taken notice of all of the events that had transpired.
