Double Trouble is a merged being (gestalt) comprised of two individuals, Jayne and Jayna Roberts.
About
Jayne and Jayna were twin sisters that came from a broken home. They were born to Tina, an unwed teenage mother, who saw them more as a burden than a blessing. She left them to be raised by her sister Ann. Ann was a decent woman with bad taste in men. She subjected the girls to a seemingly never ending stream of losers. The girls discovered their gifts and had been practicing at home (they thought they were alone). Their aunt's latest catch was sleeping of a drunken stupor when he was awakened by the noise the girls were making. He made his way downstairs and in a rage he started to beat on Jayne. Jayna begged him to stop to no avail. Ann showed up and tried to intercede but got a punch in the gut for her trouble. Jayna could take it no more, she telekinetically slammed him through the wall. Their aunt was in shock. She could not cope with what she thought she could not have seen. The boyfriend, Roy left that night. Ann left a week later, they were only seventeen. Thinking that life had sorely mistreated them, they decided that together they would hone their abilities and take what they wanted, carve their own slice of life. They did so for years, until a fateful birthday. They turned 20 and thought the world was their oyster. They had played with people, men in particular for a while now and today was not to be any different. They spotted a mentally challenged busboy at their favorite restaurant and led him on. They were going to have real fun with him today. They led him out back under false pretenses after his shift and then ridiculed him. Toby was angry and scared when Jayna started to use telekinesis to torment him. He screamed that he would not let them hurt him, he screamed for them to stop but they were in a frenzy. At that moment Toby snapped and lunged at them. He caught Jayna by surprise before she could use TK. He grabbed them both and told them that they should not be two faced, they should have one face. What happened next surprised them all. Toby had an ability as well, he could create gestalts, combined beings. He forced them to become one. The process was painful and psychologically damning. Without realizing what had happened, Jayna regained enough composure to lash out and kill Toby by driving a steel trashcan lid into his chest. When the girls realized what happened their rage expanded.
They went on a tear up and down the California coast.
Evolved Human Abilities
Jayne is a telepath, able to mentally control any function the brain controls, hearing other people's thoughts, scanning the memory of other people and sending thoughts directly to other people's minds. Jayna is a telekinetic, able to move objects with the mind. Control of is shared but the sister in control has full access to her original ability and access to seventy percent of her sisters ability. They can change voluntarily or if the controlling sister goes to sleep, the other can take over. They are usually in agreement. This makes them difficult to combat. Telepaths (even more experienced users) have an especially difficult time attacking the sisters telepathically because of their dual mind.
