When I'll have more time and... courage, I'll upload a new version with the correct URL, btw, do you guys would like to see a comic-styled font or a more system-styled font on thie banner ? I choosed the comic's one but I can change!! --  (talk) 14:28, 5 June 2007 (EDT)

  • The font's fine, but I suggest that you kill the blinking and use opacity alteration instead (ie. fade in/fade out).--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:52, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
    • This is awesome, FF. The comic font is very cool. I agree with MV, I would drop the blinking. I wouldn't even do a multiple fade, but just make it fade from "Are you on the wiki?" to the site name. By the way, there is no "www" in the site name. Sure, typing that in will get a person to the site, but it's probably best just to have it say "http://heroeswiki.com". -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:56, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
      • Also, it's a minor thing, but it looks like you used a semi-colon (;) instead of a colon (:) after the http. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:57, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
        • Actually, to create this, I have to create an image per differences, ex: A, AR, ARE, ARE Y... etc, so to create a fade in/out I would have to create many many picture with more or less opacity. I could do that but what a hard work! :s Well, I'll correct the ":" and the url! --  (talk) 15:01, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
          • Ah, okay--I had assumed you were using Macromedia flash and could do transitions easily. Sorry, then just eliminate the blinking and fix the website address, imho.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:13, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
            • Actually this is the first time I ever create a .gif so I don't know I made it picture by picture, Macromedia is for .swf no ? :) Anyway, I just uploaded the new version of the gif! What do you think ? --  (talk) 15:15, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
              • I think Macromedia used to allow you to convert .swf's into .gif's. Not sure if that's true anymore. Anyways, it still blinks 'Are you on the Wiki?' but the address is fixed.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:22, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
                • Yeah I choosed to left one blink between "Are you.." and the URL that now doesn't blink anymore! --  (talk) 15:24, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
                  • It looks a lot better. Okay, I'm nitpicking here, but this is a great concept and a very clean image, so I'd like to see it used. Okay, it'd be great if the url could be the same font size as the slogan. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:40, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
                    • Okay, let's do this :) Reupload soon.--  (talk) 15:49, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
                      • The font is better now. I still think you should kill the blinking. If you can't do a fade, perhaps a resize or crop effect. Check out the tutorial for the Advanced Gif Animator. It's a shareware program for gif animation that automates some of the effects (though you have to pay to get the good images).--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:39, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
                        • I also found a freeware program that might help. Check out Movies 13 if you can't spare the dough.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:46, 5 June 2007 (EDT)
  • I like this and I'd like to use it, but Google's max size is 50k. Not sure if you're going to get a complicated animated gif like this one down to 50k and still look good, but if this can be converted into Flash then I think it would be small and still look good.
