This image shows up very nicely when saved to my computer. On the site it seems much darker. Is this because it's a png extension? If so, should we delete it and reupload as a jpg? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:05, 5 March 2007 (EST)
- When you say on the site, do you mean when it's used as a thumbnail on the site, or even when you view the main image page here? If it's only the thumbnail then yes it could be an issue with .png. If the main image also looks dark to you then it's unlikely. (Admin 15:12, 5 March 2007 (EST))
- No, it's the main image, whether on the "desc" or the "file" page. It's just weird that it looks fine when it's in my image browser or saved to my computer, but dark on the site. Go figure. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:24, 5 March 2007 (EST)
- WHat are you using to view the image on your computer? It might have its own gamma display setting, which wouldn't affect the actual file. I had my display settings way off for my image editing program ... took me awhile to figure out.--Hardvice (talk) 16:56, 5 March 2007 (EST)
- Also, try this: drag-and-drop the image on your computer into Firefox. If it is still too dark, then it's either Firefox or your image program that's not displaying true.--Hardvice (talk) 16:57, 5 March 2007 (EST)
- I was using Microsoft Paint, Windows Picture Viewer, and ... another program whose name escapes me now. It was only on IE that it came up dark. ... Now that I'm on my home computer it looks fine in all places. Sounds like a problem with IE (again, schools don't spring a whole lotta moolah for quality technology, I've learned). Thanks for the 'vice. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:51, 5 March 2007 (EST)
