  • Actually, he was. He saw that his power didn't make him "tingle". Lie detection, whether an ability on Heroes or a polygraph machine, shows when somebody lies. By default, if it doesn't show that they're lying, it still shows something: it shows that the person is not lying. (You can read that to mean they're telling the truth, but that depends on what one's definition of "truth" and "lie" is.
