Talk:Kirby Plaza
Is this a non-fictional place? I was under the impression it was named for Jack Kirby and is not a real place. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:04, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
- Dunno who put that up, removing it (I saw it in the episode description a few weeks back and tried to look it up, it doesn't exist).--Bob 22:08, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
- I was watching the movie Fun with Dick and Jane the other night, and they were at this sculpture. ----

- Yeah, it's a real place in LA. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:17, 9 July 2007 (EDT)

Sculpture
By my observation (not speculation, actually looking at the picture at the top of the article), the sculpture looks like the symbol. I guess whoever removed my observation in trivia does not agree. Oh well. Disney42 01:37, 9 May 2007 (EDT)
- This goes with gumbyspotting: just because one individual "sees" the symbol, it doesn't merit mentioning. Unless there's a very difinitive measure to place the symbol somewhere (Claire's textbook, Mohinder the lizard's cage, etc), it's not worth mentioning. It's a spiral staircase, I could say it looks like DL's bald head. It doesn't belong in the trivia.--Bob 01:40, 9 May 2007 (EDT)
- Bob's right: I totally see the symbol in the sculpture, too, and wonder if they made that production choice with the symbol in mind. However, that's me speculating and using my awesome power of imagination to create the symbol where there isn't really any. There are not rungs and it's simply not a clear example of the symbol. An S-shape does not a symbol make. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:06, 9 May 2007 (EDT)
- I thought the architects actually made this sculpture thinking about the future tv show Heroes! -- FrenchFlo (talk) 06:18, 9 May 2007 (EDT)
- I'm with Flo...EVERYTHING has to do with Heroes, even things that were in place long before the show was even a concept!! :) Disney42 21:19, 9 May 2007 (EDT)
- Ooh!Ooh! Jack Kirby could see the future and designed it for the show! :D Heroe!(talk) (contribs) Random Page! 21:25, 9 May 2007 (EDT)
- If anything, it resembles the double helix in DNA(I don't see any resemblance to the Symbol). If the sculpture is a real life part of the plaza, then it might've been chosen for filming because of this similarity.--Pearse 11:13, 10 May 2007 (EDT)

Smallville
So the only other show I watch religiously other than Heroes, is Smallville. And I love google earth and wanted to find Arco Plaza from the sky, it's in Los Angeles, if anyone wants the coordinates, just ask. Anyway, I'm watching Prey, the latest episode of Smallville and they move to a shot from the sky, and I immediately shot out of my seat, pointed at the TV and said "OMG, do you know what that is?" and my dad was shocked and was just like "Get outta the way".
Obviously this being in Kirby Plaza discussion, you all know what I'm getting to.
- The statue is an actual statue created by Herbert Bayer and can be seen in many other movies. I remember seeing it in the one of the opening scenes of Rush Hour 3. Chrisyu357 00:55, 1 November 2008 (EDT)
- I wonder if it would be okay to put in the notes section a few examples of movies and show's it's been featured in.Dracomaster4 01:03, 1 November 2008 (EDT)
Kirby: Video Game
Did anyone else think of the Kirby games when this is mentioned. I thought it was significant, especially how Kirby steals powers in the game.--Trevorrrj 07:28, 3 May 2009 (EDT)
