What do people think about making articles for some of the more notable fan sites? An article for the awesome site House Petrelli was recently created, and I know other site administrators have wanted to create pages. I think that it's good will to let people do some promotion on Heroes Wiki, now that we've grown quite a bit since "The Beginning Days". :) I mean, if we have articles about podcasts (one of which isn't even in existence!), then I think some articles about notable websites are fine--so long as they're in the fan creation categories. What do you all think? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:32, 23 March 2009 (EDT)

  • Thank you Ryan. I used the exact same conventions for House Petrelli as I saw here for SArmy because they are the same types of sites. House Petrelli is not MY website -- it is a fan site run by three people primarily, and I see no reason that it should not get the same treatment as the already established SArmy page. Thus, it makes no sense to me to list House Petrelli under my username since it is not my website alone, but rather a group effort just like SArmy. Thank you. -- Willow
    • That's a good point about the Sarmy article. It's another fan site that is also doing great charity work and is a quality site with quality members. I don't see much of a difference between it and House Petrelli or some of the other fan pages we have. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:51, 23 March 2009 (EDT)
      • Ultimately, this goes to my philosophy of catering to people where we can. When I speak with cast and crew members, and they ask for something a bit different or a bit unusual on their page, or something that might go against a standard format, I try to accommodate where I can. It's the same with other websites. I think we run the risk of possibly coming off as elitist and even hypocritical if we allow some sites to have a page here but not others. Plus, what's the worst that could happen with having a fan site listed under the fan creations heading--we get more traffic? Woo hoo! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:55, 23 March 2009 (EDT)
        • Thanks again. We're a young site and organization, and still growing, but we're basically "the Petrelli Support Crew" analog of SArmy. If it would help the discussion, think of us as "Peter and Nathan's Army" or something. LOL We're teaming up with Heroes for Autism, as one example of our charity work, one of our founding members doing a lot of volunteer work at the event as well as helping with publicity and working with the event curator directly. It really is crazy that we wouldn't be equal in status on Heroeswiki with SArmy. And we've been promoting Heroeswiki since we launched! -- Willow
          • I'm not against it in anyway -- it adds to the wiki, and if all the articles are the same quality as House Petrelli, then it should be good. -- Tristan0709 talk 00:58, 24 March 2009 (EDT)

My Site

Would my site, [1], count as a fan site? There is a page just for Heroes Interviews, [2]. There are currently 6 Heroes Interviews on the site out of a total 12 making half of the interviews Heroes-related with at least 6 more Heroes Interviews coming soon. The 'Question of the Week' Feature is also going to be pure Heroes-related cast and crew.
Thoughts? --Skywalkerrbf 17:16, 23 May 2009 (EDT)

  • Usually we link to interview sites on the interviews page and the "External Links" sections of the pages about the people who are being interviewed. I don't feel comfortable having a page for a site that is not a Heroes-specific fan site. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:11, 23 May 2009 (EDT)
