Story

The firelight danced over the still forms of Will and Kayla. Both were looking into the flames quietly, passively. An outsider might have called them distant, or remote, but they were really sharing in a unique love they had held for years. Kayla's head drooped to Will's shoulder, and he placed an arm around her waist. They might have stayed like that for another hour, or another minute, but for a sudden snapping sound in the forest. Will was off the ground in an instant, peering intently at the forest. As the sound came closer, Will grabbed a sharp stick off the ground and held it loosely in his hand. A figure briskly emerged, and neither Will nor Kayla could believe what they were seeing. It was Will, but not Will. His face was more weathered, and his eyes seemed colder and crueler than his counterpart. The Will of now gave him no chance to speak, and stabbed him in the chest. The other Will grunted in annoyance, and pulled the stick from his chest. Before their eyes, his gaping wound began to heal. "When are you from?" Present Will asked. "Give a man a second to heal!" Future Will responded in annoyance. He sat down on oen of Will and Kayla's logs, still rubbing his chest. Will and Kayla remained standing. F.W. looked up at them. "I came to deliver a warning." he told them. "You have to stop Ian." "Who?" Kayla asked. F.W. looked at her, and then looked away hurriedly. "If you're still here, Kayla, maybe my present self can stop Ian in time to save you. He won't have many powers yet." F.W. reached into his pocket and pulled out a list. "Here." he said, giving it to Will. "Find these people. Get their abilities. Between you and Caitlin, maybe Ian can be stopped in time." F.W. stood up, and walked away. After a few steps, he suddenly vanished. Will turned to Kayla. "I won't let anything happen to you," he promised, gathering her into his arms.

Ian stood outside of the beautiful white house in Costa Verde.
