Rita Miller was an agent of the Company. She was an evolved human with the ability of passing through solid matter.

Character History

Miller became involved with the Company in the mid 80's. She was a high ranked agent, working directly with notable figures such as Gael Cruz and Noah Bennet. After a series of succesful missions as a field agent, she was ascended to Investigator. Her largest case was the unmasking of a secret organization, similar to Primatech, which recruited people with abilities for unknown reasons. She managed to discover the man pleading this faction was Samuel Ventura, a succesful spanish businessman who was also an evolved human. In 2007 she captured Ventura's son, Ralph, while he was trying to acquire vital information from the Company's mainframe. This confirmed her theory of the faction being fronted by the Ventura Group.

During Ralph's imprisonment, she was part of the interrogation team incharged of acquiring information about him. She was unaware of Ventura's mimicked ability of telepathy, which he used to read her mind and explore her deepest secrets and fears to scare and torture her psychologically. She fell into his game, trying to solve his clues and puzzles wich only led angents to deadly traps and more confusing trails. She was monitoring agents Ortega and Baldwin on following the last clue that would suposedly lead them to Samuel Ventura, which resulted in an apparently death trap in which Ortega was forced to run as fast as she could without stopping in order to keep the building from exploding. Miller tried to help Baldwin solve the puzzle to deactivate the bomb, but her efforts were futile. When the timer came to zero and everyone thought the worst, nothing happened. Just when she realized that all the "traps" had just been sick games to traumatize and distract them and no agent was ever in danger, Ralph surprised her with his telekinesis and managed to escape, copying a significant amount of information from Primatech's database.

Since that moment, Miller developed an obsession to capture the Venturas and discover the truth behind their organization, which eventually turned her paranoic. Her hate towards them grew upon the frustration she felt for having being fooled by a teenager. After some time she managed to capture Angela Wong, an agent of Ventura's organization, and lock her down on Level 5. However, just before she could start her interrogation, a fight between Sylar and Elle Bishop disabled the power grid of the area and allowed her to escape. Consumed by anger, Miller started an outrageous persecution all around the country which ended up in her being forcefully put into mental treatment by Angela Petrelli. She managed to overcome her crisis and reincorporate as an agent, but still following Ventura's case in secret.

After the Company shut down following the destruction of Primatech Research she quickly took control overmany of the Company's files and manipulated them at her favor, such as erasing her Assignment Tracker and every other information indicating that she was an evolved human and destroying all the information regarding Nathan Petrelli. In return, Nathan called her to work as an agent in Building 26 to ensure her survival. However, after Emile Danko revealed Nathan's evolved human nature, people he brought to work with him were investigated and she was eventually exposed, being forced to go into hiding. She is currently following Ralph Ventura's steps, which ultimately lead her to New York City.
