**** Sure, you can go back and look at any of them down through Hana's power, (I'm about to start Peter's next). Bottom line, I am taking the gallery, and moving it up into the Examples section. If there is not examples sub-page, then the section heading is just 'Examples'...otherwise, it will say 'Selected Examples' and link to the examples subpage. Once I get the gallery moved up, then I simply compare the entries in the text Examples, with the gallery examples. I put the fuller text (including the episode suffix), with its gallery image. In rare cases, there will be no picture, and you can use the [[:Image:Neededimage.jpg]] picture as a placeholder. Sometimes where there isn't a picture in the gallery, you can go to the episode and find one there though. I have also tried to follow a consistent pattern of putting the episode suffix link at the end of a series of pictures that are related within that episode, and tying the images together with the "...this happened...and later this happened." {{epp|101}} format. That's pretty much it. Just trying to be consistent with merging the test list of examples with the gallery as much as possible. --[[User:HiroDynoSlayer|HiroDynoSlayer]] ([[User talk:HiroDynoSlayer|talk]]) 11/2/2007 14:32 (EST) |

***** If you can also stick
<nowiki>{{needsgalleryimages}}</nowiki>
at the top of any page with missing images, that would be great, too. ****** OK, I'll try and do that from now on out. I am trying to find the needed pics as I go along, and right now I am doing Peters, which is pretty robust. (Since he has alot). I know Ryan want's to limit the examples on the mainpage, but with Peter and Sylar I think we should list 1 example of each of there powers on the mainpage...then fill in all the rest in the subexamples page. --[[User:HiroDynoSlayer|HiroDynoSlayer]] ([[User talk:HiroDynoSlayer|talk]]) 11/2/2007 14:50 (EST) |

Hi. Sorry to bother you, but the issue of whether or not to split the enhanced strength page has re-emerged with overwhelming force in favor of splitting it. Ryan has said that in order to split it, we need to contact those who objected and are still active, and see if their opinion has changed and/or if it ok with you to go ahead and split it. As you are one of the three people he specified contacting, I figured I would do so. I will refrain from presenting arguments here, but the current consensus check is [[Talk:Enhanced_strength#Poll|here]]. Thanks very much for weighing in on this. --[[User:Stevehim|Stevehim]] 23:46, 11 February 2010 (EST) |

== Image duplication == |
|||
Hey HDS. You and I seem to have been uploading a bunch of the same or similar images. (There's something I've heard about great minds...) Make sure before you upload an image, you check some of the image categories first. For instance, if you're going to upload something from ''[[The Second Coming]]'', check [[:Category:Images from The Second Coming]]. Ditto ''[[The Butterfly Effect]]''--check [[:Category:Images from The Butterfly Effect]]. Although there will certainly still be some duplicates (a few always slip by), checking the categories first will certainly help avoid too many duplicate images. Thanks, and keep up the good work! :) -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 08:13, 24 September 2008 (EDT) |
|||
* Also, when you're uploading images, you might want to use the options for [[Template:Image-screenshot]] to specify the appropriate categories. The template is designed to make it easier to designate categories, and can be expanded if you want to add a category (like I just did for Claude Rains [there's no "e" in his last name, but if you just do <nowiki>{{image-screenshot|Claude=t}}</nowiki> you don't have to remember that to get it right. :)]). BTW, thanks again for all the image uploads. Nicely done.--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 15:00, 21 October 2008 (EDT) |

** Thanks for the suggestion; I've used that template before; it's just that sometimes when I am in a hurry; I can't remember the syntax for each parameter; and revert back to the older style of categorying...I agree the template is more beneficial and flexible. --[[User:HiroDynoSlayer|HiroDynoSlayer]] ([[User talk:HiroDynoSlayer|talk]]) 10/21/2008 15:17 (EST) |

What process do you use for creating your graphic novel images? The quality of some of them is...sub-par. -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 10:48, 28 October 2008 (EDT) |

Unfortuantely at times, I tend to probably crop them to 450x350 when the may be too far from actually fitting that standard; If you have any particular image in mind; send me its link, and I'll see if I can't 'do a better job' with it. --[[User:HiroDynoSlayer|HiroDynoSlayer]] ([[User talk:HiroDynoSlayer|talk]]) 10/28/2008 10:50 (EST) |

* Well, yeah, pretty much all of the last batch you uploaded. :) [[:Image:Abigail and Lee within forcefield.jpg]] is fuzzy, Elle has a funky head in [[:Image:Claude and Elle and London Skyline.jpg]] and the image quality isn't that great (it's kind of jagged), [[:Image:Claude and Elle at Hamlet.jpg]] has some fuzzy spots where you removed the text boxes, [[:Image:Abigail's forcefield punch.jpg]] has black bars (and doesn't need to be so wide, truth be told), [[:Image:Abigail's Forcefield.jpg]] is fuzzy... What's the program you use, or what process do you use for creating your images? -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 13:03, 28 October 2008 (EDT) |

**I use Snagit to capture the graphic to jpg file, and then use Paint.Net to crop or edit the file. It may be loosing some resolution in the original save to jpg...I used to save it first to Tiff; edit an crop it; then save it to jpg; perhaps that is more resolute. I did think however, that the forcefield shots today were kinda blurry to begin with 'inside' the forcefield; but I can go back and recheck and see if I can make these clearer. --[[User:HiroDynoSlayer|HiroDynoSlayer]] ([[User talk:HiroDynoSlayer|talk]]) 10/28/2008 14:31 (EST) |

*** Just cleaned up and re-upped these two....[[:Image:Abigail's Forcefield.jpg]] and [[:Image:Abigail%27s_forcefield_punch.jpg]]. Will try and get the others soon hereafter. (however there is some degree of natural blur within the forefield balls) I think sometimes the excitement of the new cap and wanting to get it up there, needs to be bridled more for the sake of carelessness and quality. Will be more mindful in the future of this. --[[User:HiroDynoSlayer|HiroDynoSlayer]] ([[User talk:HiroDynoSlayer|talk]]) 10/28/2008 14:49 (EST) |

**** The new images look better. You bring up a good point about carelessness vs quality--some people feel the need to be the "first" to post a picture for some reason. I don't get it--especially when some of the pictures aren't the best, as you clearly articulated....I only bring up the issue because I know you upload a lot of images and usually you do a pretty good job, especially at taking the time to remove text boxes etc. By the way, if you're cutting and pasting, I find that even MS Paint does a pretty good job at keeping the quality. Yeah, I know the forcefield pics aren't the best to begin with, but it's a bit beyond that...But for truly great quality pics, I can't sing the praises of Gimp enough. It has just about every tool you could want or need, and I'm always discovering new ones. Plus, it's completely free! -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 16:54, 28 October 2008 (EDT) |

***** I've never looked at Gimp; will have to try it. What picture format do you capture, and edit prior to the final conversion to jpg upload? Do you always manipulate as JPG the entire time? --[[User:HiroDynoSlayer|HiroDynoSlayer]] ([[User talk:HiroDynoSlayer|talk]]) 10/28/2008 19:22 (EST) |

****** [http://www.gimp.org/ Here's Gimp's site]. It can create jpg, png, gif, tif, and a slew of other formats. I usually stick to jpgs, but I'll sometimes work in pngs if the occasion calls for it. Like I said, I'm always finding new nooks and crannies to the application--I know it's fantastic, but I don't know even a fraction of what it's capable of. -- {{User:Ryangibsonstewart/sig}} 19:31, 28 October 2008 (EDT) |

*** OK, so I've read the instruction page a few times; and generally understand the reason for the job...but when it comes down to actually 'doing' what you do, is this pretty much what you guys do? (to see if I am understanding the process correctly). 1) look at the recent changes page, 2) find the red-!'s and then go to that page 3) compare the history of the tip change back to the last time it was patrolled to see what the recent changes have been 4) and if they are good, then mark it partrolled? Is that what you guys do? Also, what if is bad or incorrect stuff? I wouldn't want to mark that as patrolled, but fix it, it would stay unpatrolled until another patroller or admin came along and verifed/patrolled it...? Is that pretty how it works? --[[User:HiroDynoSlayer|HiroDynoSlayer]] ([[User talk:HiroDynoSlayer|talk]]) 11/3/2008 14:27 (EST) |
