He-Man was a 1983 animated television series that aired for 130 episodes. The character of He-Man is part of the larger franchise called "Masters of the Universe", which is a series created by Mattel.

In 1981, Mattel launched the Masters of the Universe franchise. The franchise includes several iterations in various media, including the animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and three other television series, six lines of action figures, several comic series, and a film. The series revolves around Prince Adam, who transforms into He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe. He does this by holding The Power Sword and saying, "By the Power of Grayskull...I have the power!" He-Man works with his cronies to defend the planet Eternia from the evil forces of Skeletor, whose continually tries to conquer Castle Grayskull.

Hiro wonders who the villain is behind certain evildoings. He wonders if it is Skeletor, and vows to conquer him, whoever he is.
After Damian has "scrambled" Hiro's brain into "fanboy soup", Hiro sees a mall that resembles Castle Grayskull. He believes that the sorceress inside can help him, but he wonders how he can open the drawbridge without a sword. Instead, he holds up his staff and says, "By the power of Blackskull, I have the POWER!"
