November 8th is the date that the explosion is expected to go off, as seen in Don't Look Back. It is also the date that Hiro travels to New York City, and is investigated by Detective Furakowa about Isaac's death in his apartment. To prove the date to Hiro, the detective shows him a newspaper which reads "Petrelli Wins in Landslide".
A notice from Yamagato Industries on Hiro's blog states that "In light of the tragic events that has happened on November 8th, we have decided to shut down this blog. Yamagato Industries sends their deep condolences to those who lost their loved ones."
