Arnold was one of Samuel's "family" in the carnival. He had the ability of space-time manipulation.
Character History
Orientation
Arnold attends Joseph Sullivan's funeral, and is helped back to the carnival by Edgar. Samuel later comes to him, and Arnold asks him if they are really going to stop running. Samuel says yes, and then asks him to send him back fourteen years into the past, just one more time.
Jump, Push, Fall
Edgar asks Samuel if "the Chinese guy" is going to be replacing Arnold. Samuel insists that family members can't be replaced.
Hysterical Blindness
Arnold has breakfast along other carnival members.
Once Upon a Time in Texas
Arnold is not seen in this episode but his condition is initially described as critical. Samuel has the old man send him back three years to Midland, TX and the Burnt Toast Diner. Later, after Hiro saves Charlie and affirms their relationship, Samuel has Arnold teleport Charlie somewhere in time. Arnold dies from the strain, and Samuel informs Hiro that he is now the only person who knows where Charlie is.
Evolved Human Abilities
Arnold sent Samuel back in time, fourteen years ago. It is unclear whether Arnold had to go back with him or just sent him back for a certain amount of time.
Notes
- According to the casting call, Arnold was originally named "Ernie". He was an old man (65+ years old) "who is on his last leg."
