****Adding "bio" to the ability name would be speculative since we can't be certain as to whether his ability can be "extended" (if it can be extended to non-living things, then "bio" is incorrect). I noted that it can't really be determined whether the clothes he is wearing are glowing or if the glow is so bright. However, if his ability works similar to D.L.'s and Hiro's, he could be able to extend it to someone or something else via touching.--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 23:56, 26 February 2008 (EST) |

Reason for name
- See here for a good primer on what luminescence is. Light generation and illumination don't accurately describe the ability as those terms don't imply that the light emission is coming from all over Howard's body. Luminescence implies his whole body, not just his hands and not just as a ball of light next to him.--MiamiVolts (talk) 06:02, 26 February 2008 (EST)
- The terms used in the graphic novel are "I am his light", "shall be blinded", "I am the light of the world". I don't know if that is official enough discription, we could have it simply be "Light". Luminescence is a scientific term for it. -Lөvөl 12:12, 26 February 2008 (EST)
- There's nothing that says the term has to be scientific. However, I personally think "luminescence" is acceptable. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:48, 26 February 2008 (EST)
- I agree. Luminescence seems like the right term for now to describe the ability. (Admin 12:57, 26 February 2008 (EST))
