Isn't this technically a tortoise? :) --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 23:23, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

  • I guess either name works. Technically, tortoises are turtles and Matt calls it a turtle. Is the turtle in the credits?--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:42, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
    • The animal is not in the credits. Calling it a turtle is fine. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:41, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
      • Greg reveals the name of the tortoise in an interview - Shelly. Chrisyu357 11:35, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
  • Matt calls the turtle "Toby" in Dying of the Light. Maybe we should change the name of the article to "Toby the Turtle?" Isaacthepainter 17:39, 21 October 2008 (EDT)
  • I changed all the turtles in the article to tortoise. --Terrapin6000 01:01, October 25, 2008
    • I think since Matt calls him a turtle, we should do the same. --SacValleyDweller (talk) 01:21, 25 October 2008 (EDT)
      • I agree that we should follow how Matt calls him in the show (a turtle). Also, I think it's premature to say that the turtle's name on the show is Shelly, as that could be the rl name for one of the other portrayers. See the comment I had already added to Heroes Interactive:Dying of the Light.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:28, 25 October 2008 (EDT)
        • Yeah - there is no source at all that Shelly is the in-universe name of the little fellow. --Pierre 06:37, 25 October 2008 (EDT)
          • Ok, I've clarified and removed the speculation.--MiamiVolts (talk) 13:12, 25 October 2008 (EDT)

Tortoise breed?

I noticed something a little peculiar about our friend Mr. Turtle... He looks an awful lot like a Mohave Desert Tortoise, native to the Southwestern US, not the Sulcata breed native to Africa (note the flattened spines on his legs - Sulcata's are a lot more prominent).

I'm hardly an expert though, so I'm not positive on this. He could be something else entirely! Is there anyone able to clarify what kind he is?--Eris (talk) 18:47, 25 November 2008 (EST)
