So I'll be at work from 6-midnight, so hopefully I'll be able to catch most of the show on break (the last two weeks, shipments came in late, so I had to take my break at 8:30, missing half the episode). So, when I get back home around 12:30-1am, I'll start working and since I slept in today, I'll stay up all night cleaning up most of it. I'll fill in content once the iTunes download comes in around 8am or so.--[[User:Baldbobbo|Bob]] 18:25, 7 May 2007 (EDT)

Hey

Hope you're feeling better...I hear Dr. Pepper will do the trick every time. I'm enjoying your occifer picture. :) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:14, 12 April 2007 (EDT)

  • Thanks. It was one of those 24hr bugs I guess. That picture's from training for detaining people using standards set by the AF...of course, in Iraq/Afghanistan, they use Army standards even if they're in the Air Force. --Bob 22:28, 12 April 2007 (EDT)

Timeline

OK, so for the timeline, there was a good suggestion by RyanGibsonStewart to mock up something similar to Lostpedia. When looking at it, it's setup to have articles for specific months (which I like). The decision would be where to start and have a "pre-whatever" page that has all preceding events. So here are the thoughts I've had to mark the start of individual articles for months:

  • Eclipse - this would make sense, but some stuff in Genesis is before the eclipse (the beginning scenes with Mo)
  • Genesis - start of the series, would make sense, only aired material (for the time being) preceding it is Six Months Ago and Mo's dreams

I'm leaning towards the eclipse. Just wanted to field some ideas before I started. I like the way Lostpedia has it setup and it would be easier to maintain so I'll get started on that.--Bob 13:48, 14 April 2007 (EDT)

  • October 1st seems like a place to start. All jumps should be taken care of with span id tags, which are mostly there, but certainly not in every format. Ugh. A few other notes: the names of episodes and GNs should not be in the headings, but should probably be parenthetical citations. (In general, one citation for the first event of a group would be enough, though.) I wouldn't call anything "Day 1" like Lostpedia does--it just doesn't fit with our content. Good luck! — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:07, 14 April 2007 (EDT)
  • Hi, Bob. I was planning to effect a lot of changes to the timeline today (including cutting it into a pre-2006 and 2006 (though pre-eclipse and post-eclipse are viable too)) and what do I find when I get here after taking my lunch-hour? The Timeline article's gone! I'm rearing to put in a lot of content corrections and updates to the article. So where do I edit? In it OK to continue editing the archived old Timeline or should I do them directly to the new Timeline:xxx articles? I guess my question is the old single Timeline article coming back. Anyway, my suggestion is to make 2006 the demarcation since Six Months Ago and many other prelude stories (e.g., Stealing Time, Snapshots and Wireless) I think are a core part of the Season One (eclipse to explosion) action. --Mercury McKinnon 02:47, 23 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Well, with regards to splitting pre-eclipse into smaller pieces, I think it really depends on a few things. First, obviously, is Hiro's ability to go back in time. Should he go back, this may provide for more material to post, but it depends on where in time he goes. Second is the amount of content that would occur in the next few seasons. I think this current setup is pretty flexible for what the show should do. But I think that the eclipse is a sufficient time marker for a larger prefacing history versus splitting the pre-eclipse timeline into smaller sections. It's just easier for a casual fan to understand. I think if you want to discuss any possible changes should be here. As for any new revisions, go ahead and do it to the new articles. The old one is archived, so you should do corrections to the current article. I went ahead and archived it just in case.--Bob 02:55, 23 April 2007 (EDT)

Thanks etc.

Thanks for watching my back, Bob. By the way, are we ready to go ahead and switch the timelines? Let me know what you'd like me to do. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:38, 22 April 2007 (EDT)

  • Ah, no prob. For the timeline, could you maybe comment out the code that automatically links the date of an event to the timeline, and I'll go ahead and start moving articles. After that, either you or I could manually link to the respective section on the timeline article. Then I guess we'll have to comment out the timeline event template that appears at the bottom of the event pages.--Bob 00:18, 23 April 2007 (EDT)
    • Sorry I wasn't able to help you out last night, I kinda fell asleep. (Yes, "kinda".) Looks like you did just fine. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:53, 23 April 2007 (EDT)

Thoughts on the "future"

So Peter envisioned Nathan turning into Sylar, who tells Peter he knows nothing about power. Sylar paints a very twisted version of Nathan in the Oval Office (I originally thought it was Sylar painting himself). Methinks that this show is good.--Bob 20:21, 1 May 2007 (EDT)

Admin

  • Hey, Bob. You interested in being an administrator here? (Admin 14:09, 3 May 2007 (EDT))
    • Sure, I can do that. Once finals are done on the 11th, I'll have the summer pretty much available. Thanks.--Bob 14:15, 3 May 2007 (EDT)
      • You're so lucky you're done on the 11th. We're going until the 16th of June, I think. Can't wait for this summer -- this has been a hard year. (Welcome aboard, by the way!) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:19, 3 May 2007 (EDT)
      • Welcome aboard!--Hardvice (talk) 15:21, 3 May 2007 (EDT)
        • Gratz mate :) Hope you do not plan to takeover the world now you have THE POWER! :) -- FrenchFlo (talk)        15:49, 3 May 2007 (EDT)
      • Ok, I've granted you administrator privileges now. Congrats! (Admin 19:39, 3 May 2007 (EDT))
        • I must say, from a purely selfish standpoint, it's really nice having less RCs to patrol. Can't wait to see if things run smoother for me on Tuesday. :) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:54, 6 May 2007 (EDT)
          • Haha no problem. How can you tell who does patrolling?--Bob 00:18, 7 May 2007 (EDT)
            • Educated guess: Only admins can patrol, and you and I seem to be the only admins on the site right now, so.... — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:06, 7 May 2007 (EDT)
              • Nice work Dr. Holmes.--Bob 01:07, 7 May 2007 (EDT)
            • I patrol from time to time when I'm not working on backend stuff, I know Hardvice and Ryan patrol as well. Pretty much every admin probably patrols at times. (Admin 01:29, 7 May 2007 (EDT))

Images for Characters

  • Great idea, Bob. It's on my summer to do list. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk)
    • Sorry about putting that comment on your user page. And I'm not quite sure how I erased all that other stuff. I must have still been sleepwalking this morning. Oops! — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:13, 4 May 2007 (EDT)
      • Haha that's ok. I knew you must have been really tired for that kind of an edit. It was a nice chortle to break the monotony of my last calculus lecture.--Bob 15:15, 4 May 2007 (EDT)

Undo

  • Hey, I noticed you don't write summary when you undo someone's edit. Could you add one next times so that we can understand the reason! :) Thanks. -- FrenchFlo (talk)        15:08, 4 May 2007 (EDT)
    • I'm revert-button happy I guess. I'll start using undo for ones that need explanation. Thanks for the concern.--Bob 15:09, 4 May 2007 (EDT)
      • Heh. It's tempting to use rollback, I know. Since there's no description I try to reserve that for reverting vandalism or when there are a large number of consecutive edits by the same person that need to be reverted. I use undo for everything else so I can leave a summary. (Admin 15:28, 4 May 2007 (EDT))

I'm starting to not like working on Monday nights, but there's only three more weeks of torture

So I'll be at work from 6-midnight, so hopefully I'll be able to catch most of the show on break (the last two weeks, shipments came in late, so I had to take my break at 8:30, missing half the episode). Sorry about the Phasing and Precognition edits. I misunderstood the source and didn't notice they were already appropriately mentioned on the pages.--Tim Thomason 18:52, 7 May 2007 (EDT)
