** Where is this standard listed? There shouldn't ever be an exception. Else you might as well create articles called, some article. How is that different? I can understand words such as "to, the, ect" in the middle not being capitalized --Blackthir13en 23:41, 14 November 2006 (EST)

*** Since you asked in my Talk, it appears that Rule #1 of the WikiPedia General Conventions, don't capitalize second and subsequent words. We can't help that we have so many articles with "the" in front of them, so those articles can be renamed to not include "the". --Orne 23:45, 14 November 2006 (EST)

****I'm sorry if I caused an issue, i'm just following Lostpedia standards and didn't see any sections denoting anything suggesting otherwise. Luckily both will now redirect to the same. Would descriptions of people such as The Exterminator or The exterminator be accurate because I noticed there were inconsistancies --Blackthir13en 23:52, 14 November 2006 (EST)

Renames

  • Welcome Blackthir13en. I'm curious why you are renaming so many articles? There are many items where the second word is not a Proper name, so it does not require capitalization. Is this some wiki policy from another site? --Orne 23:00, 14 November 2006 (EST)
  • I'm not sure about all the capitalization moves, either. Capital letters in the middle of the titles mean you have to pipe links to them or else have Random Capitals In Your Text.--Hardvice (talk) 23:01, 14 November 2006 (EST)
  • Without some sort of naming convention, it is nearly impossible to accurately link articles. Piping is nothing once a wiki grows in size. Not having a standard is much worse. See Lostpedia's page authoring for examples. --Blackthir13en 23:34, 14 November 2006 (EST)
    • Yes. And ours is to capitalize the articles for easy inclusion in text. In other words, if it would be capitalized in a paragraph (like a proper noun), it should be capitalized in the title. The only exception to this that I can think of is The Symbol.--Hardvice (talk) 23:37, 14 November 2006 (EST)
