If so, this would also suggest Bennet's involvement since he was recently partner with The Haitian. - Though this would indicate a lack of wisdom on his part, Matt declared he would keep the crowd's attention, not scan for potential threats. - No loud shots were heard, indicating that the weapon was silenced with a suppressor. If Peter wasn't expecting an attack, he wouldn't have been able to prevent it with telekinesis or time manipulation. + The assassin appears significantly taller than the other members of the crowd. Mr. Bennet is also significantly taller than normal. + The show's villains seem to have a habit of assigning important tasks to potentially untrustworthy subordinates in order to gauge their loyalty; i.e. President Sylar assigning Future Mohinder to execute Hiro, and Adam Monroe assigning Peter to kill Hiro so he'll stop bothering them.
