In 1990, Claude and Haram track down Rollo Fusor to a yacht, parked in a harbor in Côte d'Azur. Claude clandestinely boards the boat, but Haram is not so lucky--he is handcuffed to a dead body and a woman pushes him into the sea.

With Claude's help, Haram staggeringly washes ashore in a Côte d'Azur harbor with only Pizet's dehydrated arm still handcuffed to him. Claude pries the arm out of the handcuff by breaking off the shoulder blade, and Rollo Fusor and his accomplice escape.
