"Great-o Scott!"

Though arguably attributable to Doc Brown of BTTF (due to the temporal anomaly connection), the reason Doc Brown said it was because Superman/Clark Kent said it before him. Hiro could just as easily been referring to Superman, for the more obvious reason. The phrase has also been used by C. S. Lewis in the Narnian Chronicles, and dates back according to multiple Internet sources as far back as the U. S. Civil War. It could even be a reference to The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which had a character called Doctor Scott, and a song called SuperHeroes. I would have solely viewed Hiro saying "Great Scott" as a reference to BTTF, only if Ando then popped his head into view and added, "Yeah I know this is heavy!" --ZachsMind 14:19, 1 February 2007 (EST)

You're correct, "Great Scott" is not unique to Back to the Future only. However, the line was written after Present Hiro spoke to Past Hiro, echoing the time traveling theme of BTTF. I don't think Hiro was referencing Superman at that point. However, I think it would be absolutely permissible to include the Superman reference (with a link to DC Comics) in a Notes section of this article. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:23, 1 February 2007 (EST)
