Episode History
Six Months Ago
"My brother Peter, the hospice nurse. Can you believe it? It's just --"
"Oh, it's a perfect fit. He's selfless and empathic ..."
The Fix
"Left the family business. I'm a nurse now."
"Nurse who's an empath, very cute."
"'Empath', what's that mean?"
"Means you're a pain in my ass, mate."
Distractions
"You know, before I hit the ground ... when I knew what was about to happen, I had this flash ... in my head, of this girl that I met in Texas. This cheerleader. She could heal herself. Oh, gosh, she's this sweet kid. Sad little smile, and she just ... You were wrong. I don't have to cut her out. I have to remember her! How -- how she made me feel! That's how I ..."
How to Stop an Exploding Man
"I look in Peter's eye, I see compassion, empathy, but most of all, I see hope. This world won't be saved on strength. What it really needs is heart -- and that's Peter."
"You came here because you needed to. You needed to hear the truth before you could save the world."
"I save the world?"
"You've had the power all along, Peter. You just needed to learn how to use it."
"Why me?"
"Because there has to be one that's good. There always has. And your heart has the ability to love unconditionally. Like I told you, in the end, all that really matters is love."

If Peter has the ability to absorb other people’s powers, doesn’t that make him like Sylar?
Peter and Sylar are two halves of a similar coin. Both are able to absorb people’s powers, but in two very different ways. Peter’s is based on his empathy and his ability to connect with people and when he’s around them. Sylar actually has to take your brain and do something with it.

Which hero do you identify with most?
Kring: I'd have to say Peter, the sort of dreamer. I was certainly a late bloomer and trying to figure out who I was and what the meaning of my life was. And so I definitely relate to that character. The empathy.
