Jan is born in another reality where evolved humans are actors playing the show Heroes. Actually this is a parallel universe to the Universe of Heroes.
Parallel Universe
In the parallel universe where Jan comes from, humans genetically evolve too. But instead of supernatural powers, evolution gives them intuitional or subtle intellect, smartness, ability to inspire themselves or others etc.
Moved from the Heroes Universe to this one, evolved humans lose their powers. Having the 'evolved' genetic code, they gain more subtle powers instead and they can use their powers on a smaller scale.
Normally moving through universes is not possible for anyone. It is only seen to be achieved by the cooperation of evolved humans from different universes.
Character History
Jan Rodrigo is a master student in molecular biology and genetics. His research is about epigenetics and biopsychology. He practices yoga and intuitional arts. His spiritual teacher, an Indian sannyasi leads him to a Chinese colleague.
The Chinese monk, who is very susceptible of any kind of vibration and who also possesses the ability of precognitive dreaming, warns him of an imminent danger, a threat which may cause the collapse of many universes. They work hard to rescue Stephen Canfield from the multidimensional vortex as he is the only one able to link the two universes.
After an all-round education of 6 weeks in Milas, Turkey, Jan and Stephen move through the vortex, to the universe of heroes.
They help almost all of the evolved humans running from the government by bringing them to another universe. Then all of them work together to find a way to overcome the hunt.
