I think this because of Once Upon a Time in Texas, it says Hiro teleports 3 years into the past, he first met Charlie in October 2006. Peter will eventually get his original power of Empathic mimicry back. I reckon he will connect with another person, with abilities, on an empathic level allowing him to absorb their ability.
