I don't think I've figured out everything about navigating the site yet. For example, are there main portals into the theories and spoilers sections anywhere. The way I usually get to them is either by clicking a link at the bottom of another page or in the recent changes list. --[[User:E rowe|E rowe]] 18:33, 21 January 2007 (EST)

Navigation

I don't think I've figured out everything about navigating the site yet. For example, are there main portals into the theories and spoilers sections anywhere. The way I usually get to them is either by clicking a link at the bottom of another page or in the recent changes list. --E rowe 18:33, 21 January 2007 (EST)

  • We haven't really gotten around to adding portals for theories and spoilers yet. Spoilers change so quickly that by the time we have them added, they're done, and theories is mostly just one big article. Also, neither really lends itself very well to graphic navigation ... pictures of spoilers would themselves be spoilers (and thus inappropriate for portals, which are accessed by everyone), and theories ... well, I can't really think of any good theories.

The easiest ways to navigate a wiki, aside from portals, are 1)bookmarks or 2)the search box. Usually, when I need to go right to a particular article and don't want to have to drill down through the portals, I use "search", but I've also got bookmarks to the "big" categories (Characters, Episodes, and such). Hope that helps.

As for the portals, if you have any ideas about a good way to do portals for spoilers or theories that's neither too hard to maintain nor too spoilery for general visitors, that would be great. I've been trying to come up with a good answer for a while, but I'm not having any luck.--Hardvice (talk) 19:01, 21 January 2007 (EST)
