About
Graphic Novel:It Takes a Village, Part 1
René recollects his childhood village where his father Guillame was a leader. For years, the village remained untouched by the Tonton Macoutes. Guillame is a strong and beloved leader, revered by the villagers for his ability to induce euphoria. When the Tonton Macoutes come to wreak havoc on the village, Guillame tries to stop them, but he himself is thwarted.
Graphic Novel:It Takes a Village, Part 2
After the Tonton Macoutes string up Guillame, the villagers leave their Houngan hanging for twenty-four hours. Guillame decides to hold a ceremony with the entire village in order to regain their favor. Though the rite begins blissfully, it ends with the minds of the villagers being erased.
Graphic Novel:It Takes a Village, Part 4
René returns to the village to carry out his father's command--to bury the zombie-like villagers. As he is about to bury a villager, Thompson walks up from behind him and offers help. They leave the village.
