She may have done so by converting the sound (which she perceives as light) into kinetic force. • The appearance of the damage Emma did to the wall seems similar to the damage Sylar inflicted on a wall while trying to scalp Hiro in Once Upon a Time in Texas. - Emma only started perceiving sound as color when her ability manifested. - Sound is a mechanical wave, it can carry a concussive force, it doesn't need to be converted into another form of energy. The damage Emma did to her wall could simply be because the sound was focused and directed at that portion of the wall. + Damage caused by sound manipulation has a very 'blunt' look.
