It would make perfect sense if Gretchen killed her with an ability to make Annie fall out the window. Which would explain why the suicide note wasn't available when Claire was looking around. Annie had to be forced to fall by persuasion or mind control. + Gretchen is practically trying to isolate Claire by being around her so much which explains her sudden interest in solving Annie's murder. It's very possible in this heroes universe since so many twists has occurred in past episodes.
