| Gretchen is one of those carnival members. Indicates that she has "Persuasion" like Angela or "Telepathic" abilities like Matt.|| None. || plus Annie had her future planned out. She was so excited talking about future plans with Claire, and seem distracted when Claire didn't know what to say. Which indicates that it couldn't have been a suicide cause she has her future plans plotted out already. It would make perfect sense if Gretchen killed her with an ability to make Annie fall out the window. Which would explain why the suicide note wasn't available when Claire was looking around. Annie had to be forced to fall by persuasion or mind control.
plus Gretchen is practically trying to isolate Claire by being around her so much which explains her sudden interest in solving Annie's murder. It's very possible in this heroes universe since so many twists has occurred in past episodes.
Theory Citations Notes
Gretchen Berg knew about Claire's abilities, so she murdered Annie to see if Claire can heal by telling her about the Jump, Push, Fall theory. Which she was lead by Samuel. In Jump, Push, Fall Gretchen watches Claire fall. + Claire couldn't find the suicide note in the first place because it was put there by Gretchen after Claire left.
- That is as much speculation as the theory in itself.
Gretchen Berg has the ability to control people's emotions, and that was what made Annie jump with it to be Claire's roommate. She seems a little off and obsessive. + Claire said she couldn't find a suicide note. So someone could have put one there to make it look like a suicide.
- And how exactly that means Gretchen is the one who did it though the use of an ability?

+ She is very happy and obsessive to hang out with Claire.

- Or she could simply be a bit off.

+ This could explain her closeness with Claire.

Gretchen Berg might be gay. She seems a little off and obsessive. + She appears to be very interested Claire.

+ The first episode is called Orientation, perhaps a hint and play on words both college and sexual orientation.
+ The show has indicated that a gay character would be introduced.
- Gretchen is interested in Claire because she was involved in a murder.
- Zach and April were both gay.

Zach wasn't gay.

- Elle was obsessive and off, but she had no sexual interest in Claire.
+ That still doesn't rule out that Gretchen might be homosexual. Everybody has their own motives to be around someone, maybe Gretchen has a homosexual crush on Claire or Bisexual crush. It's very possible, not ruling out that she may not be.

Gretchen Berg's ability allows her to learn things quickly. None. + She said she was getting better at Guitar Hero with every second.

+ When she was explaining the Jump, Push, Fall theory to Claire she threw the orange really far on her third example.

- How does orange-throwing aptitute implicates she learns things quickly?
Every action you do is one you learn. She demonstrated learning through repetition and threw that orange much further, surprising even herself.
- Anyone with basic motor skills can throw an orange.
