About

Graphic Novel:Maya y Alejandro

A police officer investigates the deaths of at least eight people in their town. While interviewing the people at the scene, he is introduced to a young boy whom he brings back to his office with him. The boy helps the officer to draw a young man and woman whom the boy claims caused the deaths. Meanwhile, a girl and her brother, who resemble the people in the drawing, are hitchhiking in the back of a pickup truck. The brother tells the driver they are heading to Brooklyn, New York to see someone whom he believes can save his sister. The driver replies that he can only take them as far as San Cristobal.

Notes

  • Hana's website hints that Maya and Alejandro made their way up from Columbia and Panama to Honduras. The Central American town in Maya y Alejandro is presumably somewhere along that route. The countries between Columbia and Honduras are Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. However, if the events of Maya y Alejandro occur chronologically after the events described in Hana's most recent post about Central America, then the Central American town would presumably be located in Honduras.

Trivia

  • "San Cristóbal" is Spanish for "Saint Christopher", the patron saint of travelers.
  • Adding the corpse already in the morgue to the corpses in this full view of the town street, the sum is a total of thirteen corpses shown in Maya y Alejandro.
